I want a 55 gal tank but can only afford a 29 gal. Do you think 9 neon tetras, 5 tiger barbs, 4 cory cats and 3 mollies are too much for a 29 gal. I can't get the 55 gal but I want a lively fish tank. Serious answers only please.

I will make a vet appointment if I have to but am trying to avoid the extra cost right now. She is a white cat & has clusters of black spots on her chin. Fur is missing in small patches. I put peroxide on it daily. Every website that I go too just says that vet care may be needed if it does not go away. I want to know if anyone has treated this on thier own & had success.

TIA

My 10 month old femal Shih Tsu got spayed 2 weeks ago. She has fully recovered. It could just be me but since the surgery we have noticed that she has been a lot more hyper, agressive and unruley then she ever was before the surgery. Can this be connected? Is it the fact that her hormones are all different now? If so, is this something that will even out and go away? Are there any suggested ways to deal with this.

As an example. When on a walk normally she will see another dog and "alert" bark and whe then dogs meet she becomes shy. Yesterday after the dogs met the other dog started to walk away and mine start to agressivly go after the other dog. (who was 10 times her size).

Any help, advice or suggestions would be a big help.

I've had an old Rat Terrier dog 13 yrs old for around 2yrs, that is very laid back and is good as gold.I got him from a friend.
We'll I just go a dog from a friend which is a German, Chow mix very good dog female. As soon as I brought this dog is the house the two started to fight. The Female held down the male terrier just to let her know who was boss but you could tell she didn't want to hurt him. My Terrier came back and they got together again only this time the little one bit and scratched the bigger one until the female bit him on his back. He went away bleeding but didn't need stitches, I've been putting ointment on his wounds for the last couple of days and have keep them seperated. Today he finally got up enough courage to go outside with the other dog to potty but when they came back in the German female wanted to fight again. This dog came from a family with 3 cats and a fox terrier but younger. Do you think if I get her spayed it might help the female dog not be so agres

I currently own a female pit bull which is about 18 months old. Lately I have been experiencing a strange problem with her. She is not aggressive by any means. While I am at work during the day I leave her in my bedroom and let her just play around in my room, she has toys, food, and water and everything in my room and just plays around in my room and sleeps on my bed while I am at work. I have her own bed in there as well but she usually does not use that one, most of the time she is sleeping in my bed. When I get home from work and she is on my bed I can rub her and play with her and she is just fine, no growling or anything like that. At night when I go to sleep I allow her to sleep in my bed with me. For the last month or so every night when I am about to go to sleep and are in my bed with her and she is on my bed relaxing/sleeping and I go to pet or rub her she starts growling and gets really upset as if I was really pissing her off. Any ideas on how to prevent this?

Some of you may be aware that I asked a question about my kittens eyes around a week ago. Well, the kitten was taken again yesterday and kept overnight, so that the vet (Goddard veterinary group - I live in the UK) can do a blood test and urine sample overnight.

They just phoned me up, and said that the kitten (Who is 5 months old), has something called FIT. What is FIT? He was saying that she has an underlying viral condition, and that she displays the classic signs of FIT, that she will have this problem for the rest of her life, and will most likely die soon anyway. He also said that it's up to me, but since treatment (And there isn't even any effective treatment for this type of condition) is going to be expensive, I can go to a charitable organisation and see what they can do. But he reckons that they won't be able to do much anyway, since even if they agree to pay for treatment, she will die soon enough anyway.

I'm at a loss for words. I've had this kitten for 14 weeks.

My dog is like a flea magnet. We have tried various shampoos and conditioners, flea collars, the cedar bedding that goes in their kennels, even Sevin Dust. We have even tried brining him in the house to rid him of the fleas but they follow us and attack him all over again. At this point, I have resorted to giving him weakly baths but not even tis helps much. The "funny" thing is that we have two other outside dogs as well and neither of them have the major problem with fleas like he does. Nothing works to keep the fleas off of him. I don't know if I can afford Frontline but I will make myself afford it somehow. I'll take the bus to work and back and save on gas money or something. He needs it much more than I need anything at this moment. I never realized when I adopted him that this would be such a problem.

So, I was wondering if anyone had these same problems before and did Frontline or K9 Adavantix help your pet? Which is cheaper and is it still effective?

Maybe a few people will be enlightened if we share our personal experiences....here is mine. 2 years ago, my mother in law got a shihtzu puppy as a "something to look forward to when she got out of cardiac rehab" Suffice it to say, she spent the next 14 months in and out of the hospital then passed away, so I had this dog from the time he was 10 weeks old....his parentage is unknown to me, no papers, etc. I am no expert, but I have had dogs of every size and configuration for many many moons- Let me tell you about Porkchop- the worlds most awful dog- He has been lovingly cared for, housebroke easily, etc. He has the worst skin problems ever, he virtually lives on Benedryl or he will scratch himself till he bleeds, we have to keep him trimmed down to 1/2" of hair or less or he will also get hot spots, he lives inside, eats only Canidae, has all his shots, etc. He has the worst tempermant of any dog I have ever encountered- growls at everything, snaps at you without provocation, etc

ok..so i have 2 kittens inside that are ROUGHLY 4 months i guess and i'm planning on getting the male fixed but i think i have to wait till he is 5 or 6 months..but anyways i also have another male cat thats a indoor/outdoor cat he plays outside all day long and then comes in when it starts getting dark...he doesnt spray in the house or anything and so i was wanting to get him neutered as well..which should make him want to stay inside..right? and last, i have one more male cat that grew up from a newborn to pretty much adulthood in the house but since there are female cats that run around everywhere outside..he had started wanting to stay outside....i hate it because the other male cats that roam outside fight with him and he has nasty looking wounds all on his neck...and my bf wont let him be in the house because he will spray...we tried to let him in and he spray our couch...but now recently weve been letting him in to eat and hes fine..i will finish this in the upper section..

I told my girlfriend that her cat is not going with us to our new condo because the cat will do it's business all over and stink it up as it does not use the litter box. (IT'S A VERY SENSITIVE SITUATION)

... and does not have any input on if the new owner wants to breed that puppy some day...

Would you consider this to be a reputable breeder?

Beyond the "yes and no" answer options, please explain why.

I used this stuff on my three cats and the only thing it did was make the skin on the back of there necks peel off and the fur in that area is coming off in clumps and the worst, they still have fleas. I would never use this junk again. Any other ideas for getting rid of fleas.

Hello, we bought a brand new set up for two parakeets, new cages, food, toys and cage litter. We placed the cage by the windown where they can see trees. But after four days, they have made only a minimal amout of chirping. Very little. 99% of the time they are just there, quiet, not moving. Is there something wrong?

My girlfriend and I just moved. We brought her cat with us, and left her sister's cat behind (with the sister)
So our cat is going through what I'm sure is a common transition where she's weary of new noises and whatnot.
After a day it seems like she started being less scared of every little thing, and she started walking around, looking at and smelling everything, and meowing.
We're assuming she's looking for the other cat since this is the same thing the other cat has been doing at her sisters.
I'm also assuming this is somewhat normal and she'll get over it in due time.
My concern is that she's not eating or drinking.

How long after a move should I be concerned about the cat’s lack of food/water consumption?
Would it be a good idea to make her drink some water?

We have a wonderful dog-we got him as a puppy and he is three now. He is a shepherd mix. LOVES people. Never an accident in the house. We didn't realize when we got him that he is completely anxious and cannot relax if there is anyone outside of the fmaily in the hosue or yard. Plus, there have been two biting incidents with kids but ONLY when food was directly involved.

I knwo it sounds insane, especially since the latest bite was my older daughter, but is there a way we can keep this dog? I am thinking of obvious things like feeding him separately, crating him when company is over (especially kids), putting a dog door and heater in the garage for him when kids are over. Basically I am looking for suggestions, I don't want to play fast and loose with a biting risk, I don't want to be sued, but I made a committment to this dog, not knowing he was too much dog for us. I feel, at age 3, he will only get more mellow. My husband, so far, is not yielding on keeping him.
