This is an extremely dominant and powerful animal, and particularly at this time in its life, requires a great deal of time to establish your position as leader. If you can't afford the professional advice, and don't have the time, the best course of action is to rehome the dog with a very experienced owner, or put it into a rescue for that breed. I doubt that an all-breed rescue would take it, and a shelter would probably not even attempt to adopt it out. Otherwise, I think you may be facing some very serious issues down the road. I will echo what others have said. No dog is untrainable, but some require a much higher level of knowledge and involvement than an easy to train breed. This is one of them. Also, I do get the impression that you are in over your head with these dogs.

Dogs are always trainable! That is just a myth brought on by people who don't know how to care and train an animal. At any age a dog can be rehabilitated or trained. With some dogs it takes more time than others. If you are consistent and really take the time to train and love your animal they will continue to grow and learn until the day they pass on. If that seems too much for you, then I suggest you not have a dog.

I would be interested to hear what training facility told you that. I have never heard of any training facility calling a puppy untrainable. How many different ones have you tried?

A puppy is never untrainable---the problem is the person who is not "training" properly. It is a DOG.
The trick is to control the resources (food, toys, playtime) and rewarding the behavior you want.
The dog doesn't care about the rewards? You aren't using the right ones.
Find a professional trainer for help.

My sister got a pup returned to the breeder as hopelessly untrainable at your pups age. She then TRAINED it in agility - the dog is the top titled agility dog of her breed (by like twice the level of the next dog) in three venues of agility and a national tornument finalist. this is not the only example of this... no dog is untrainable - in fact scientists have trained EARTHWORMS so your saying your pup is dumber than a worm?

Dogs are always trainable, I've trained many senior dogs.
Odds are the problem is at the other end of the leash. It usually is.
