no its normal. its a dog. i mean to him....its a dog.......in your bed. he probably doesnt want to sleep with animals. pretty simple. just sleep next to him and put the dog on your side so he doesnt sleep next to your husband. like you in the middle.

For eight years i let my dog sleep with me. He kept me warm and i knew where he was at night. I lived alone.
Then a few years ago, my husband said it was him or the dog in the bed. he did not want to sleep in doghair.
After some thought, i decided that my marriage was very important, and i would really like to sleep with my husband. My dog is also getting older, so getting on the bed was becoming a challenge. My husband bought the dog the best bed ever... more comfortable than my own...and the dog loves it. We got a puppy last year, and he is not allowed on the furnature at all. It is working out well, and i do have a cleaner bed to sleep in. Sometimes, though, i do get up in the middle of the night and sleep on the floor with my dogs. Sometimes, especially if i am not feeling well, i pull out the sleeping bag and have a sleep over with my pups.

My partner doesn't allow the dog in the bed with us either. BUT that's OK. There really isn't enough room for 2 grown people and a 60 lb dog...

Now, Baby Blue had slept with me every night since I rescued him from some bad-guys who were fighting him. So he was quite used to taking his half out of the middle.

However, since my partner has come into our lives, Blue sleeps on the easy chair or the couch or wherever he wants - just not in the bed with us.

The compromise is that he's allowed in the bed for a morning cuddle and snuggle. That seems to placate both partner and Dog.

It could be he does not like it because the dog takes up room. I know my dad did not like it when the dog was on the bed because it would take over his space when he was sleeping. that was his reason. I think he just dose not want to tell you the real reason.

LOL! We have 3 cats and 2 small dogs who started taking over our bed, and my husband complained as well. He now sleeps on the couch- no room at the inn!!!! haha!

I love my dogs sleeping in the bed with me. They are like live teddy bears you can snuggle with. WHO NEEDS A MAN WHEN YOU GOT A DOG!! lol

No, I do not think his answer is stupid. And this is coming from a woman who lets her 100lb Black Lab sleep in bed with me as well as my husband. We are all a product of our environment, if your husband was raised not to allow pets in his bed, then it stands to reason he would not allow this as an adult.

I don't know. Everyone is different. I am Chinese and my husband is American. We both love our cat he is about six pounds and likes to sleep on our bed. I used to dislike it and push him away, then he just sleeps by my husbands feet, but now I miss him. That's wierd though because he always comes to the kitchen for me to feed him.

I sleep with my pomeranian, when I`m alone having a nap during the day. I love sleeping with him, he barks when a stranger knocks at the door, it wakes me up.. I feel a little safer. LOL! But my hubby would kill me if I slept with him at night. Crate him at night, might be a better idea.

I don't think it is a stupid answer. There are a lot of things that we do subconsciously because that's the way we were raised. A lot of people think that dogs are "dirty" and shouldn't be in the bed.

Honestly, I don't think this would be worth the fight.
