I used this stuff on my three cats and the only thing it did was make the skin on the back of there necks peel off and the fur in that area is coming off in clumps and the worst, they still have fleas. I would never use this junk again. Any other ideas for getting rid of fleas.

Oh my God, that's horrible. Sentry is bought from stores isn't it? You've just discovered what I'm trying to spread the word about - store-bought stuff does NOT work, and is often dangerous. You're actually lucky this is all that happened, many people end up with dead pets from the likes of this stuff. Shocking they can even sell it, isn't it?

Get a spot-on from a vets, like Frontline, Advantage or Revolution. You'll be safe with these. I know you're probably wary of using any spot-on after the trouble you've had, but know that these spot-ons are not the same drugs as you buy in stores. They're specifically formulated to kill fleas but be safe for your pet. Store-bought products are specifically formulated at all, they're just random insecticides that manufacturers bottle up with the hope they might kill the odd flea and not damage too many pets.

Anyway rant over (I think) - stick with veterinary treatment. You might want to wait for your cat's skin to heal up first - in the meantime maybe used a Capstar. This will kill all the fleas, though it wont prevent them like Frontline does.

Frontline Plus or Advantage. Keep in mind that these products only kill fleas and ticks that jump on to your cat, so for a few months it may appear that your pets still 'have fleas', but what you are seeing are the fleas from the carpet and other areas your cats frequent that are still jumping on. Do not fret, they will die in a matter of hours, and in a few months your cats and your home will be flea-free.

ALWAYS beware of products that tout cheaper monthly costs, 'natural' remedies, and a broad spectrum of results. My friend, you get what you pay for, and although Frontline and Advantage are more costly, they in fact DO work, and they work very well indeed.
