James,
Your chances of getting tapeworms from your cat are slim. Humans can get tapeworms, but it is usually from eating meat that has not been cooked properly.
Next, the tapeworm segments that are passed do not live long outside the body. These segments have to be ingested to live and reproduce.
Finally, just as good measure, always wash your hands before you eat. There are many germs out there that could make you sick that you pickup handling many things, not just kitty. This is especially important now that we are entering the fall and winter seasons and the start of colds and flu time.

Yes if you accidentally eat her fleas or poo (hate when that happens!) you could get tapeworm, but it's fairly unlikely - just wash your hands after touching her!!
And get her some proper flea and worm treatment so she doesn't have fleas or tapeworms, then you won't have to worry! Get proper treatments from a vet, do NOT bother with store-bought stuff.

You should always wash your hands after playing with animals because things like tapeworms and diseases can be easily spread to you by eating things and not washing your hands and also having your fingers anywhere near your mouth. you don't know where your cat has been so you don't know what you could catch. There are worse things you could catch from your cat then tapeworm so please keep levels of personal hygiene high so you don't get sick.

highly unlikely. unless your planning on swallowing any of her fleas. thats the #1 source of where cats get tapeworms from. just take her to the vet get some tapeworm tabs and some revolution or advantage for the fleas and don't let her outside. tapeworms are really common and this probably won't be the last time she gets them.

If you've even been in the same room as your cat since he/she's had the tapeworm, than it's too late.
You've got it and there's no cure. You just have to wait for it to get tired and leave your body all by itself. If it decides too!

Actually you do not have to ingest the things you mentioned which would lead me to ask why, would you eat these things?Getting them from your cat is very rare but, still very possible. Why not treat the cat to kill the worms? The best treatment which is fast and very effective is "PRAZOUANTEL"it is available at most pet stores.(the better stores anyway)
