O Dear!,
I'm sorry to tell you this but the problem will only get worse unless you poison the snails, or add paradise fish or other fish that eat snails.

The thing about snails, is they dont need another snail to breed, 1 can turn into 5000 in less than a year.

May i suggest paradise fish to cull them down or a snail killing chemical which you can buy localy at your petstore.Be sure to ask so that you dont get a chemical that will also kill your fish

Pond snails will do that on you.

About all you can do is remove the egg masses by hand to keep the number of snails you have down. Or, if you want to be adventurous, set up an aquarium with a puffer fish - they love snails as food and need the hard shell to keep their beaks trimmed.

Once the eggs hatch, you'll have even more snails, which will lay even more eggs. And depending on the type of plants you have, these may soon become a meal for the snails.

If you want to get snails for your tank in the future, I would suggest staying away from pond snails, and using nerites (need saltwater to reproduce, but can live in freshwater) or mystery (apple) snails. These have separate genders, so if you only get one, there won't be any reproduction if you get a male. Females can store sperm from a male and lay fertile eggs for a few months, but after that, any eggs will be infertile.

Copperhead seems to know what he's talking about. I told you those snails were trouble..... You seemed to be so worried about them. Once you get one you'll have a million. Just like guppies! :)
