Pretty much the same as humans Blood.For a Blood transfusion a Vet may extract Blood from a healthy Dog and put it directly into the needy dog.There are Red cells ,white cell,platlets etc.Each are checked ,much like humans for particular Diseases and Illnesses.Hope this helped some.
