I have tried everything from the cat food recommended by the previous owner, canned food and even human to no avail. What should I do? I think she is not drinking either. Will she starve herself to death? She is already pretty skinny. All she does is hide and everytime I put a bowl of food around her she refuses to eat. Any ideas? Thank you!!

Hi. At the moment I have a 28L square aqua one tank, which I was thinking about turning into a marine tank.

How much extra effort and money would that be? I'd like live coral in it.

Also, any ideal fish to put in? I want a mixture, as colourful as possible :)

My hamster is always chewing on the bars of his cage. What does that mean? Is it bad for him? I give him toys to chew on but it does not help. Why dose he chew on the bars more when it is hot out?

It's been so long since I had a puppy....what should I do about this bite? I have no other animals and all my floors are hardwood w/ no carpet for fleas to get into and I feel pretty confident that I can get rid of the rest of her fleas w/ flea and tick shampoo...but what should I do about this one area?

I have tiles in my house. The whole 1st story is tile. Their porcelain. My chihuahua stays downstairs all the time and I was wondering does the tile have any affect on her? The tiles get really cold.

Last November we got a puppy. She was around two months old. She's a lab / viszla mix and is spayed and healthy.

Originally we thought our electric fence was in, but it was not, so we couldn't put one in until the ground unfroze. We had issues getting her out there in the snow with the leash. She had been doing okay with her training up until it snowed and at that point it all went bad.

Now almost a year later, where she will pee/poop outside of the house if I take her out at the right time, but she will not tell me she has to go nor will she hold it. She has an area in the house that she has picked as her "poop room" and she will go there.

How can I break her of these habits. I want her to TELL me she has to go or at least hold it until I let her go (she's fully trained with the invis fence). She does have a crate that she will get into, but she whines constantly when in it. We worry blocking her off from that room will make her go elsewhere (as she has gone in other rooms)

I have a couple of betta fish, I am starting to breed them, and the problem is that my female betta loose interest after 30 minutes of flaring with my male betta. What could I feed her, or what could I do to stimulate her. I have become a expert with male bettas, but females are just to cocky. Thank you!

I just wondered because my best friend's girlfriend told her that an owl attacked her cat, ( not a kitten) and flew away with it in its talons. I believe that's the way they carry their prey., but I've never heard of an owl attacking a cat! By the way I live in California, just in case you wondered & I don't know what type of Owl it was, wheather that is important or not.

She has very thick fur so will this lessen the effectiveness of a prong or pinch collar?

We can't avoid other dogs, there are at least 50 others just in the building we live in. The apartment is next to a park so almost everyone around the park also has a dog- and this is where I'll have to walk her. That's why I'm kind of desperate for a quick fix to a problem that doesn't have a really appropriate quick fix.

As far as electric collars, I've never been in favor of them. But if anyone has good things to say about them, I'd like to hear about them and how to go about using them.

Can anyone offer any additional info about prong collars? I don't have experience with them and don't want to make any mistakes.

Thanks to all who answered the other question and thanks in advance for help with this one!

My husband brought our cat home from the vet with two out of the 5 kittens that she was carrying still alive. They gave her a c-section and spayed her at the same time. The vet said the kittens should be fine nursing on their mother but I have read that once a cat gets spayed she can't nurse. She seems pretty full still but I wanted to know signs to look for in the kittens just in case she stops producing or isn't producing enough. She does let them suckle but gets uncomfortable after just a few minutes and leaves their nest with the babies crying. How can I tell if they are getting enough milk?
P.S. Before everyone tells me how she should have been spayed, we found her already preggers on her first trip to the vet and I did not want to abort her babies.

I just walked out my front door and on my stairs was a pile of poo... I have lived in this house for three years and this is the first time I have ever seen this happen. The poo sorta looked like cat poo, but much more of it. Now, I haven't seen any stray cats or stray dogs in the neighbor hood, so I don't know what it is and I am not sure what a raccoons poo looks like. I have three cats in my house, completely indoor cats, and my husband thinks that it could be a raccoon marking its territory, but would they do that? And now I am worried as to what if the animal was sick, since I scooped the poo with a shovel and deposited it into our 'outside' garbage bins, which happen to be in the garage, whcih the animals arne't allowed.... Should that be fine until the trash is picked up? Should I be worried? Or am I just making a moutain out of a mole hill??? Thanks, any advice or comments are welcomed...

So I hung the flier suggested on the door of the dog owners and I woke up this morning to find it stuffed under my door. I don't know if they thought I did it or were passing it around to other pit owners. But after yesterday I really feel something needs to be done - seeing the girl handle the pit, screaming Oh My God repeatedly as she tried to hold it back from myself and my pit puppy coming home from work (ripping her jeans down the middle in the process). I also heard her call the dude and say how the dogs kept fighting and I could hear them through the door going at it. I don't want them to get evicted dogs to get taken away,or anything terrible like that, I just want to feel safe, feel like they are under control, not be scared to take my pup to the bathroom, and not have to be worried about the neighbors' kids and pets. Any ideas?

Yesterday I asked why people who don't like cats get thumbed down for their opinions, and I admit I don't like them, but if I were a bad person for not liking them would I ask a question like this http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuL3KgZMvRPGV7dVO7bIFsYhBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20070913095928AAp36i6

I've had cats as pets, I know what they're like, but the reason why I don't like them now is because I raise poultry chicks and ducklings and I am sick to death of cats turning up in my garden looking for a free meal. They haven't got a hope of catching anything because the chicks/ducklings accomodation is too secure, but I hate it that a cat can wander in whenever it likes and probably think to itself "OOOH, free dinner!".
