Damn piggish person to send that dog home with you KNOWING it had fleas!!!
Wash the dog with Dawn for now and then get her to the vet ASAP. She's going to need a monthly treatment.

The last owner said the bite has flea eggs in it? That doesn't really make sense- the last owner should have treated her with fleas before even thinking about finding her a new home. How old is the puppy? Get a good quality flea/tick shampoo from the pet store and bath her. Also, once she is completely dry put Frontline on her (from the vet or some pet stores) because that helps get rid of fleas and keep them away. However, if she is very young she might be too young for Frontline- so check the box.

Fleas do NOT lay eggs in bites nor are the bites very visable. If there is a visable bite and there are anything that appear to be eggs in it then it could be maggots or other type of parasitic eggs. This puppy needs to be seen by a vet.
Do NOT use OTC flea products including shampoos these can be very dangerous especially for a pup. If you do give her a bath use Dawn dish soap and rinse thoroughly. Take her to a vet for a good exam..he will advise you on the best and safest treatment for fleas & ticks..likely Frontline or Advantage if you don't have a tick problem where you live..
Also if this puppy hasn't had any vaccinations if it is healthy enough it will be a good time to get started on that. Also get the puppy dewormed by your vet.

OK, flea eggs are microscopic i.e INVISIBLE to the naked eye - if eggs have been spotted in a wound they are likely to be fly eggs! Meaning the wound is severely infected and the puppy needs a vet asap.
Don't use flea shampoo, or anything from a pet store. It just doesn't work, so don't waste your money. Pick some proper treatment up from the vets, like Frontline - but get that bite wound sorted out.

Fleas will also get into couches, beds, laundry, curtains, etc. Borax does a good job (under couch cushions, under sheets) but it is quite poisonious to people/animals and has no antidote, so be careful with it and only put it places children and animals wont get to it.
Most likely washing (with standard blue Dawn, nothing else on a puppy please!) the dog before brining her in will solve the problem. Fleas nests in carpets and such, they do not reproduce in bites.
You should probably get the bite looked at asap though. If the previous (incompetent) person noticed it looked funny (cant think of any other reason theyd say it had eggs in it) then it could be a more important type of bite or another injury altogether.

Flea bites don't have eggs in them, fleas are parasites, suck blood like a tick. If your dog has fleas and you keep it in the house long enough, you are going to want a new house. My suggestion is take the puppy to bed with you that way all the fleas will be on you, not the poor dog.

Fleas don't lay eggs in their bites. just treat your doggy for fleas really well, get rid of those and use a bit of hydrocortizone on the raw place and any other places she may have. the poor thing is probably itching like mad. and watch about getting fleas in the furniture, with all hardwood floors that would be your only worry as to getting them in the house :) good luck

what the other person told you doesn't make sense to me. take your pup to the vet for a thorough examination. take a stool sample so they can check for worms. fleas will cause tape worms so its best to have the stool checked. the vet then will put her on a monthly flea preventative. if you have a flea infestation in the house just remember to vacuum the house every day for the next 2 or 3 weeks. remove the bag or empty the container daily and put it outside. wash any pet beds or blankets/towels the dog sleeps on or with. most over the counter flea medication do not work, so only use or buy stuff the vet recommends

Take the puppy to the vet and get it frontlined, or another prescription flea treatment. All my dogs are frontlined and have no problems with fleas. Hope that helps.
