they cant feed themselves when they are bad and u put them outside they bark non stop like mad idiots. cats are so much better they feed themselves look after themselevs alot more than dogs. Why the hell do we keep dogs as pets there so dumb ????????????

If dogs are so dumb, why are they trained as the right hand for unsighted and unhearing people?
Why are they used in disasters to sniff out people in trouble?.
Why are they used in the fight against drug trafficking?
A dog can also care for and warn a person suffering from epilepsy that the patient is going to suffer a seizure, even before the person knows it.
Now thats what I call smart.
The list of things dogs can and do do is very long.
How many cats do you know that are trained up for these tasks?
A dog is one of the smartest animals on this planet. They are also one of the most faithful and loving.
A dog will willing give up its life for its owner because it loves them. Even if they are cruelly treated by that owner.
I will agree that a domestic cat is far more able to feed and care for itself than a domesticated dog.
A cat and a dog are two completely different entities. You can own, love and care for a dog but a cat owns you and is perfectly able to look after itself without the help of a human.
Watch a few TV programs about what abilities a dog has and I am sure you will change your mind.

What you're calling "dumb" is a human like dependency-- comparable to a child's. In fact, the more primitive an animal, often the sooner it can instinctually care for itself. So in fact, it is actually the fact that dog intelligence is a few steps closer to human intelligence that gives that impression. Cats aren't even in the ball park of dog intelligence. Ever see canine obedience trials? Cat's were originally bred for keeping rodents out of grain. The vast number of dog breeds represent the number of various skills dogs have been bred for.
My question is-- why would someone want a cat for a pet? Such a primitive thing, unlike a dog which interacts with humans like a true companion. A cat is about one step away from a pet lizard.

That's funny I don't remember my cats being able to feed themselves, not once did they get in the fridge and open their own cans of food and serve themselves, I seem to remember I had to do it. I also seem to remember when I put my cats outside they meowed like mad idiots to come back inside. They also peed all over the house, refused to use their litter box, got into fights with neighborhood cats, and brought home dead animals.
Dogs are social creatures, cats are not. Cats couldn't care who feeds them as long as they are fed. Dogs are pack animals, cats are not. Dogs want to be with their pack as they are very social creatures, cats are not. Dogs can be trained, I remember not being able to train my cats to do anything they didn't want to do. And if the dog is outside barking it's head off it's because it's frustrated and needs exercise because it's DUMB owner failed to provide for it.
Last time I checked they didn't use cats to find lost children, or find people trapped inside a collapsed building, I believe they used dogs.
No such thing as a dumb dog, only a BAD owner.

they are not dumb...but very smart. what is considered "Dumb" is usually the result of the owner not being smart enough to communicate with and train the dog!
mine does not bark non-stop.
She would feed herself if I did not keep her bag of kibble locked up and left the cabinets and fridge open, and wasn't a responsible dog owner and let her wander the countryside
She does not mess in the house, I can leave our gate open and she will not leave the yard, I can walk her off leash, she will not run away, and if she kicks up a bird or rabbit, I can easily call her off.
She is an accomplished agility dog, and has been out herding a few times. She can down, sit, stay, heel, side, come, go on, turn around me, turn into me, turn away from me, shake a paw, play dead, roll over, plays fetch, plays soccer.....
but best of all makes us smile, is gentle, but energetic and a great companion
to me, cats are worthless

dogs are even smarter than some people(like you)so shut up and don't call dogs dumb!
If they are so dumb why do they save lives?
Why do police put them to find drugs?
Why do they are even police dogs?
they bark because obviously something is wrong
(maybe dogs hate owners like you).
They don't feed themselves because they don't want to eat rats and other disgusting things that cats eat,and they don't have arms so they cant feed themselves(just like cats).

Blame the owner(s). But last time I checked BOTH dogs and cats can feed themselves. If you properly train a dog, and give him the attention he needs, he wont get into a lot of trouble. Therefore you wont have to put him outside and hear him bark.

Hunt with their owners
Do obedience
Do agility
Do dock diving
Catch a frisbee
Do flyball
Guard a home
Sniff out drugs
Be a guide animal
...and many other things that dogs can and do for us humans.
You get out of a dog what you put into a dog. If you're too lazy to bother properly training your dog, that's your own fault.

Dogs are great pack preditors, and they have no problem feeding themselves in the wild. They survive fine.
Most of what you are talking about stems from how the dogs are raised by dumb humans. (let me see you survive without your luxuries... go catch your food and prepare it your self... you may need a dog to help you hunt.)
We ask dogs to do unnatural things for them. They are pack animals, yet most of us only have one and wonder why they are neurotic. They dig for food and tear apart there food, yet we feed them kibble and get on them for 'destroying' stuff. They run in groups, yet we cater to dog aggression by not socializing them to other dogs and keeping them far from them. We are offended by their basic greating of butt sniffing and we get upset if they don't perform the tricks we asign them.
It is funny that we are supposed to be so much more advanced than them, but we don't understand them at all. We insist on making them understand us, but they can not do that.
We keep dogs because in the right circumstances and with training they are great companions and work aids. They can hunt, track, be loyal and loving and make us laugh.
