I really want this kitten, it's absolutely gorgeous. I don't make big purchases like this. But I am very into cats, I adore them. I even work at a shelter twice a month scooping kitty pooh and I really want my own cat. I could get one from the shelter but while they are all very sweet cats, this one is just drop dead gorgeous and could be a show cat someday. Everyone around me spends money on other items like things for their house or hobby things that are just as expensive, but I am getting the third degree for wanting a living breathing thing that my entire family will enjoy. Oh and I am gonna have to charge this on a credit card and save to pay it off before march of 08 so i dont get charged interest. again- i still dont see a problem with this.

I used to be against it but I tried those plastic claws that you can glue on and they don't stay on plus it's very hard to get them on,the cats don't stay still

I've been researching about cat breeding as I'm considering eventually getting into it as a profession. I was looking at breeds and, thinking I was going to settle on the Snowshoe, I ended up finding a "Snow Cat"* on another site that I must say is even more adorable than the Snowshoe (although I have yet to find enough information on its personality).

The cats have been described as being similar to the Egyptian Mau, but looks a bit fluffier and are always labeled as "Snow Cat." I contacted the breeder selling these cats via e-mail with no luck, so I may end up trying phone if I don't hear from her soon.

Any idea what this cat is? I assume it's a Egyptian Mau hybrid, but I'm not sure what the other half is in the mating.

If anyone ends up getting brave and calling and asking, I'd appreciate that, too (save me the trouble later, ha ha ha).

I saw a program the other night saying that Pitbull dogs have been banned (I know there was a problem with them a while ago as some were attacking people). What does this mean? Where have all the living Pitbulls gone (have they been killed). I feel really stressed as I love animals and believe that some of those dogs were probably fierce because of their horrid owners. Does anyone know if they still breed them?

...so called "designer" mixed breed from a "so called [unethical] breeder" when you can get the same thing in a rescue or shelter for much less?

Would you risk that the backyard breeder of these mixed breeds doesn't really know what she/he is doing and will end up with sick puppies because said "so called [unethical] breeder" has no clue how to prevent such illnesses from running amuck in the home? Then won't shell out the money and drive 30 minutes to an 24 hour vet clinic for a really sick litter and/or pup?

I don't understand WHY anyone would support such [unethical] breeding practices, do you?

I have two children and my mother-in-law gave them each a kitten last month. I was not too fond of the idea at the time, especially since she did not ask me first, but the kittens grew on me. The kids LOVE them. The problem is that now that they are growing and getting more playful, jumping on things, etc. my husband says "They have got to GO!" He allowed his mother to give these kittens to the kids in the first place and they are sooo attached to them. He gets annoyed that the cats jump on the counter and sometimes want our food, etc, which I am trying to discourage by squirting them with a watergun if they get on the table. He does not have to clean their litterbox as I do that and the kids like to feed and water them by themselves. He is insisting we need to get rid of them but I do not want to take them to SPCA. Any suggestions?

1.Should the bedding in a hamster cage cover the bars on the down side or not? How "high" should it be???
2.I think my new hamster can't actually use the drinking bottle since when i squeezed it with her around she tried to drink both from the bottle and from the already spilled water! What should I do??

My puppy loves her leash. The second that I pick it up she lays down. One time we got her to walk, but it took three people calling her name. Sometimes she will walk when I shake the treat bag, but other times she won't. I have done everything previously suggested, but I need help. She is about four months old and a small dog. She loves being outside on her leash until I pick it up. She stays close without the leash. I would just like to be able to walk her.

i have a 4 month old poodle puppy.
he is very very active. he goes for a run in the dog park every day for an hour but he still wants to run more.
i can feel his ribs and hip bones etc. vet says nothing to worry about until he is losing weight. he is not losing weight which is good.
i heard though that cat food is not good food for dog as it's too high in protein. but would that not be good for my puppy now? so he gets some protein to put on muscle weight?
please just let me know if it's ok. if not what can i give him to make him put on more weight?!
thanks

Ok, I have a puppy who is 6 1/2 weeks old. I've had him since he was 4 weeks cause the mother wouldn't feed him or his siblings. I've been crate training him: he stays in the crate while I'm working, he's out when I'm home. I take him out as soon as I wake up in the morning. He stays in the crate at night time cause I woke up one morning to 6 poop piles. I take him outside when I come home for lunch at noon, and I take him outside for at least 1 hour when I come home for the night. Whenever he pottys on the floor he goes back into the crate, but he's still going on the floor! Any tips would be helpful and let me remind you I don't like the idea of "cages" but I've had no choice in this matter. I didnt have to use it with my first dog I still have. He isn't kept in the cage all day, just between morning and noon and then 1 and 4:30 then he gets taken out several times while I'm home. After he poops outside, 5 min. later he'll do it in the house. I'm lost on what to do!

Its his 15 birthday soon and we have decided to get him a dog/puppy. We alreayd have two labradors and he says he doesnt want a labrador. Size doesnt matter, we have a 4 bed house a medium sized garden and the dog would be taken for 2 walks a day atleast. We want an resonablie energetic dog but not to hyper.
We dont want a breed such as rotwieler or dobermen (my husband had bad expreinces with those breeds).
Has anyone got any ideas?

Our female chihuahua just had puppies about 3 days ago. She had 6, one was stillborn, and another was much smaller than the others. He hasn't been nursing from his mother, and so we got some formula from the vet and have been bottle feeding him. se seemed to be swallowing and digesting. we've been waking up every 2 hours to feed him.
At first his mother would whine like crazy and try to jump out of the box when we took him out to feed him, but now when we put him in the box, she grabbed him in her mouth and threw him against the side of the box!

Help!?

I have a protien skimmer and a hang on the side filter for my saltwater tank and I have had a few things get sucked into them, including fish and anenomes. I am looking for a permanent solution to prevent this from happening. Right now I have a sponge covering the intakes of those items and they get dirty very quickly and are not permanent, does anybody have a suggestion?
