These things returned after a good cleaning...I'm wondering what they are and what I can do to rid them. They are snow white in color...but terrible to look at. Not to mention how the one fish (Beta) feels sharing his tank. What can I do? Thanks.

I know this sounds craaazy, but every time I sneeze, my little pomeranian sneezes! At first I thought it was coincidence, but then I fake sneezed with the same results, over and over. It is quite entertaining for visitors! Should I enter her in David Letterman's Stupid Pet Tricks?? Its really cute!

Ok I have the litter boxes in the garage in a dog cage butted up to the door with a doggie door so they are protected from the dogs harrassing them while they use the litter box but I have one cat who refuses to go out there he would rather go under the fish tank or behind the couch or at the base of the cat tree. GRRRRRR any suggesstions we are in the process of boarding up the back of the fish tank and lockin gup the cabinets cause he actually opens the cabinets instead of walking thru the back that is open(dingbat) He is a great cat and very sweet but I can't steam clean every day.

We have a toy poodle who uses a doggie door. There is a neighborhood cat that comes in at night. I would like to catch the cat and turn it in to a shelter, or better yet, have it shipped to madagascar. How can we give a clue to the cat?

When i adopted her, the shelter said German Sheppard mix, but the more she grew the more she looks like some sort of hound, some people think maybe rhodesian.

She is 80lb.

I got a kitten 2 months ago from someone as they left them at the pound, however I do not know the age of the kitten. She does not yet have any adult teeth. She weighs about 5 lbs she was litter box trained when I got her and already on dry food. I don't know much about cats but want to have her fixed and give her all shots but first need to know her age. Please help with a good guess. Thank you.

I just adopted a 4-month-old female lynx point. Is it true that Siamese cats tend to climb more than other cats? I heard this from my mother.

I have a female Siberian Husky. She just turned 6 months old. How do you tell when she is in heat? how long it lasts? And can someone guide me through what happens during her heat? Do I need to do something during this whole process?
She will be spayed after her first heat.
Approximately how much does the operation costs?
How do I care for her after the operation? is there anything special I can do for her when she gets home? and how long is the recovery time after the operation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....! =)

I think it's kinda funny that as someone who adopted a dog from a shelter, I constantly feel the need to justify why I wanted a small dog. I use the "I may end up in an apartment down the road" excuse- but why do I feel like I need an excuse?

My local shelter is always full of big dogs, they are the last to be adopted- the little ones are gone quickly. But if I am happiest with a smaller dog then why do I feel badly that the big ones are left there- I know I shouldn't adopt a dog I don't want just because I feel bad...

Anyone else ever feel guilty for their preferences?

and married, no kids yet, but my wife and I were thinking about getting a dog. I say that I am not allergic to dogs, but then again, I wasn't allergic to my dog that I had growing up. Would that correspond to all or most dogs too? I know I'm allergic to all cats, because I've never been around a cat that I haven't sneezed or gotten an allergic reaction to. Instead of going to the pound and getting a dog, etc, should I first go to an allergist to see if I'm allergic to dogs too?

Hi Guys,

I am really hoping that someone will know what I should do as my ituation at home with my cats is really upsetting me.

Basically 2 weeks ago my husband and I called our local cat rescue centre as we wanted to rehouse a cat. We were told about 2 cats (Mother and daughter) who's owner had kicked them out so they had been living in a garden but being fed by someone who lived in the street.
As soon as we heard the story we decided oto adopt them.
When we went to pick up the cats only the kitten was there so we brought her home, she settled in straight away and was loving and gorgeous.
Then we got a call a week and a half after taking the kitten home and were told that the other had turned up so as we had already agreed to take the two we took her home as well.
The problem is that the kitten hisses at the adult cat and if we stroke her she goes to bite us, hisses at us or scratches us.
The adult cat spends the day hiding under my bed and it makes me sad.

Please help

i feel bad for him/her...it...
it just swims around in the same little bowl all day long. it doesnt even have stones or a castle because my mum doesnt like the bother of cleaning them when she cleans the bowl. i guess the answer here is simple, i should clean the bowl myself. and buy something to make my fish's life more exciting.
but don't they only have a 3 second memory?
should i buy it something to put in the bowl?
do goldfish get bored?

and does anyone know how to tell if it's a boy or girl?

I have these three cats. I often ponder their intelligence level. As an example, as soon as I throw out my litterboxes to get new ones, which happens every second day, all of a sudden all three of them have to go to the bathroom, during the transition period. Almost like they know I am going to be replacing them. Another example----whenever I watch a sporting event on TV, all three of them try to "catch" the ball that is being displayed on TV. Also, if my reflection from my watch dances on the walls, they are climbing them, often with hilarious results. So---my question is----how smart can they truly be?? Have cats ever taken things similar to IQ tests??

we have 2 cats for over a year and NEVER had a flea. or at least not that we noticed. all of a sudden in the past month or so, they are AWFUL!! the cats do not go outside, but it is an infestation. i mean, you walk through the living room and have fleas all over your feet and ankles. my husband woke last night to fleas covering the bed and his legs etc. im getting exasperated as we have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, and i dont like all these fleas with the little kids! whats the best way to get rid of these buggers for good? i was thinking of flea bombing, but anyone have personal experience on it? i know how they work, i dont need an explanation, just if you like the way it worked or not. any other suggestions? the cats are getting baths right before i do anything and getting flea drops on, then going to our uncles before treating the house. thanks in advance for any helpful insight!!

I know it's different diets for dogs and cats, but the cat seems to like the dogfood better than catfood. Does this affect their health?
