He is already on a pill called Rimadyl and gets an adiquin injection bi-weekly. He never winces or whines, but I feel it's progressing. The vet said it's not his time to "go" yet, but I want him to be as comfortable as possible. How come they haven't prescribed a painkiller?

ok have had the sam air pump for 6 years and it finaly broke and mijer was having an air pump sale so I bought the mijer 60 gal double output lung-500 for my 20 gal i figured since it's a 60 gal pump it sould be a lot stronger than my 5 gal one. but I don't see a huge difference. I only hav it going on one of the out lets but I'm going to conect the two with a t vale for more air. so my questions are
1. will I see a big difference when I connect the two?
2. is there any thing wrong with this air pump?
3. is there a real differance bettween an air pump if it's for 10 or 80gal?

My friend just got a new cat from the Humane Society and they say that she had a flea/tick/everything treatment @ the Humane Society, but when they got home we were brushing the cat and found small black things in her fur (plus some dander). What are the black things?? Fleas?? Or just normal for a black furred cat??

...my mom? When my mom bends down to get something, or is reaching out to pet the other pets and she's in eyesight of my mom, she'll run over no matter what she's doing and bite/scratch her. My mom feeds her, and has never hurt her or any of the other animals!! This cat did use to be in an abusive home, but since she's been here no one has ever done anything to her, and i can easily make sudden movements around her, bend over around her... pretty much do anything and she won't attack me... the only time she's ever bitten me they were love bites.... and i'm not the one that feeds her or takes care of her, i just pet her lol one time my my mom was taking groceries out of the bag, and my cat latched onto her leg and bit her so badly that she started bleeding like crazy... why does she do this?? how can we stop her??

week, I took him to the vet and the vet gave him his first set of vaccines. Ok, now he is 8 weeks old. On Wednesday, I took him back to the vet and they accidentally gave him the same vaccine again! When I got home, about an hour after, he started vomiting. He is so weak and only weighs 0.5 pounds. I don't know what to do. Do I just wait it out or should I take him to the Animal ER? Techs, have you ever seen a kitten accidentally be given an adult dosage of a vaccine? What should I do? Please don't tell me to sue the doctor, that is besides the point. I want my kitten to get better first. Should I just wait it out and he will get better on his own or should I take him to the Vet ER asap? PLEASE HELP!!!

She's 50/50 black lab and border collie, and we got her at 8 wks. She has figured out her "spot" at our house, but I have a dog-friendly workplace, so I can take her to work to keep an eye on her during the day. However, she absolutely REFUSES to eliminate while I'm at work. We're crate training her, and I have tried taking her to a small park across the street as well as to a secluded grassy area behind my work. She holds it all day and goes when we get home. Unfortunately, this means I can't let her out to play while at work, as she will go on the carpet. Suggestions???

The dogs know and love the neighbors who feed them treats often, not the son who is from across the country. One of my dogs bit the son on his arm and back, he is now sueing me. My dogs were confined to my yard by an invisable fence and he knowingly came over to see the dogs, doesn't he own some responsibility for the bite? This is an adult who was not invited to enter my yard. Though he says the dog jumped the line and pulled him into my yard. Impossible, like anyone who has an invisable fence would know, the shock knocks him on his ***. He's petrified of the beep which is given 18inches before the shock which is all on my property. Why should I be libel for someone's stupidity?

....... why America is the only country (out of all the MANY countries on planet Earth) that thinks it's acceptable to declaw cats? Has no one ever considered that perhaps, given how outnumbered America is in their belief, just perhaps this practice is a little - uh - backward?

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe America alone is more advanced than the rest of the human race (that was sarcasm).

Anyone agree?

(obviously this is not directed at the millions of Americans who DON'T agree with declawing, but it's just interesting that everyone who DOES declaw IS American...)

My daughters got the goldfish just over 1 week ago, we settled it into the tank as instructed, ( filter water aditive ) but in the last 2 days Ive noticed that for about 70% of the time it is just laying in the corner of the tank the other 30% it is swimming rountd the tank like it is on speed. It seems to be feeding ok, Ive just ordered some daphnia as I was told that could help

I have a small pond that had one Koi fish in it. He was approx a year old and in good health. The pond is around 100 gallon plastic in ground unit with a small upper level that has plants in it but isnt accessible to the fish. A couple weeks ago I found the hose that pumps water to the upper level had come off and pumped most of the water out only leaving a couple inches for the fish to swim in. I fixed the hose, refilled the pond and fed him. He was swimming around and eating the food like normal. A couple hours later he was doing fine then the next morning I found him out on the grass, dead. A week later I went and got 7 more small ones and put them in the pond but within a couple days 2 more jumped out and died. I just added a bunch of small goldfish today and all the fish seem to be doing fine, I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything here. I'm taking care of the pond like the owner of the house showed me to so I'm at a loss..... I dont want to loose anymore fish!

I am traveling with my dog and already have all of the required paper work. However, the vet recommend that I have my shiz shu 5mg of valium, I am very hesistant but I do not want my dog to be too nervous since he can not ride in the cabin and has to go with the lugage. Has anyone travel with their pet and given them medication what should i expect.

however of course im not going to get a pet, then |AFTER| i bring him home, learn about him.

i want to know the different personalities of each amazon availiable... i really like how blue fronted amazons look but i heard double yellow naped are more friendly.

any information / experience / advice?
