We do not have ticks or fleas here in Northern Utah. Other than her wearing her new colar, I wonder what else could be the cause of her acess itching. ?

No Gracie. Not every state has them. I lived here for 16 years with three different types of dogs. Never had fleas nor ticks on them!

If she has a collar on and is not use to wearing one it may caue some irritation. Also if you ahve carpet and use the carpet sprinkle stuff some animals are allergic to that stuff...

None of my chis can wear a collar and nor can my weenie dog.It actually takes their hair off. They scratch and scratch till hair starts to lose.So I don't put a collar on my babies(all house dogs who only go out for bath room breaks and to play) and never without me. I have 1/2 acre fenced in,so all my babies have plenty of room to roam. But I do keep their tags at close hand so if any law enforcement wants to see their tags.I have never been able to put a collar on any of them. And my oldest chi was a rescue I have had for 13 years, and she was 3 when I got her.Maybe u can try a diff kind of collar. And my vet actually tells ppl its safe to use skin so soft on their dogs for itching, but I have never done that.I keep them clean and we do have fleas in bama but front line takes care of that.LOL.U can look into pet edge or pet smart to see if they make something for them itching.Ms Mickey has a skin disorder and she takes predislone for it.But My vet gives it to me and she does not take it every day (can ruin their liver) I enclosed 2 links to diff sites for pet aids for itching.Hope it helps.

Could be the food she is on - try Canidae chicken and rice, good nutrition and especially for skin and coat issues.

I switched mine over, had 2 dogs with extreme skin issues, and they are doing very well now.

It coud just be her collar or dry skin. I know that puppies itch alot though because they're growing and their skin is stretching. That's what the vet told us about our golden so I'm sure she's fine.
