I find that putting 2 females together causes alot of fighting. It's best to have a male and a female together provided they are both altered.

It is really up to you and your dog. All dogs are different have have to be considered when you bring a new one in. I have two males because I prefer the males fun loving, playful goofy side. And both my dogs are fine with either sex. My sisters dog on the other hand only gets along with females. But most dogs especially when fixed are fine no matter the sex. Females tend to be quieter, lady like and more protective. Where as the males are goofier more playful a rambunctious.

I would suggest a female to keep the dogs from becoming pregnant. And having to nuder the male. It seems more if you want to have a litter of puppies. But if you want to get a male go for it. I own a male and female and they sometimes fight. So probably get another female.

I hear that opposite-sex dogs are better at living together, as same-sex dogs can get territorial (this is more true of two male dogs, but I'm sure two females could get into a teritory dispute as well.) Just make sure your dog is spayed and/or the new dog is neutered before they move in together, LOL.

Is she spayed? Do you want to mate her? If you want puppies and she's not spayed, get a male. If you just want her to have company, get her a female. Alternatively, take her along when you go looking for another dog, and let her pick out her own friend.

make sure that all your pets are neutered. this will settle the male dogs down and they aren't so aggressive and don't want to roam. (and in allot of places you get a break on the licensing) it should be a dog of comparable size and take your own dog with you when you look for another pet.

It really depends on what you want, but typically females are more protective while males are more playful.

dogs aren't like humans...two females CAN get along lol i have six female dogs and they ALL get along..no problems my dogs range from a queensland to a boxer to a chiwawa lol and they are all best freinds. its all about your dogs personality is it freindly or territorial so you decide

it depends, I tend to like females but they have puberty when you don't fix her, and it also depends if your dog is a female or male.
