Ok I have the litter boxes in the garage in a dog cage butted up to the door with a doggie door so they are protected from the dogs harrassing them while they use the litter box but I have one cat who refuses to go out there he would rather go under the fish tank or behind the couch or at the base of the cat tree. GRRRRRR any suggesstions we are in the process of boarding up the back of the fish tank and lockin gup the cabinets cause he actually opens the cabinets instead of walking thru the back that is open(dingbat) He is a great cat and very sweet but I can't steam clean every day.

i have the litter boxes outside in the garage because I have 3 cats and dont want the smell, I cant put it outside any where cause they are STRICTLY indoor cats the other two use it no problem I think he has never been trained to use one because we took in him and his sister and his sister used to pee right in the middle of the floor we found his sister a home where she was the only cat and she was fine. He used to use the litter box alright not consistently but he has pretty much stopped what worse is he doesn't do his business in front of me I had one that would wait till I was looking at him and he would pee on the couch he went to the vet and had a uti. But this one has a clean bill of health no problems just would rather use inside than out. I have heard they dont like pine sent or amonia so that I can put small caps with amonia in them where I dont want him to go or pine cones. Does this work?
