we have 2 cats for over a year and NEVER had a flea. or at least not that we noticed. all of a sudden in the past month or so, they are AWFUL!! the cats do not go outside, but it is an infestation. i mean, you walk through the living room and have fleas all over your feet and ankles. my husband woke last night to fleas covering the bed and his legs etc. im getting exasperated as we have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, and i dont like all these fleas with the little kids! whats the best way to get rid of these buggers for good? i was thinking of flea bombing, but anyone have personal experience on it? i know how they work, i dont need an explanation, just if you like the way it worked or not. any other suggestions? the cats are getting baths right before i do anything and getting flea drops on, then going to our uncles before treating the house. thanks in advance for any helpful insight!!

THE BEST MED IS FRONTLINE or ADVANTIX that you put on the back of their necks. It works within 12 hours and the fleas are DEAD!!!! You may have to bomb the house to get the remaining fleas out of furniture but once any flea jumps onto your pet and bites them, the med renders their nerves DEAD and the flea dies. It also works on their larva. I have NEVER had a flea problem once I used either of these products!!!!! Heartz or any of the other stuff that you buy at Walmart, etc DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!

Don't bath the cats 2 days before or after applying the Frontline or it won't work. Make SURE the Frontline gets on the SKIN of the animal, not the fur, or it won't work. Recommend getting Frontline Plus if you can, it helps treat the environment.
Don't use ANYTHING from a pet store or supermarket, so no bombs. Only use products from a vets because they actually work - pick up a spray when you get the Frontline. Recommend Staykil, Acclaim, Indorex or Skoosh.

Frontline or Advantage will help with the fleas on your pet, NEVER use Advantix....it will kill your cat, it is meant for dogs only. Also get some Capstar from your vet, it will start killing the fleas in just a few minutes (it is a pill you can give your pet every 3 to 5 days) then get someone in to treat your house.

You can get a flea spray that you spray in the carpet, and around the baseboards of each room, and across the door sills. However, your best bet is to get the flea medication that you put on the dog's back between their shoulders (like Frontline's Top Spot). It will eventually kill off all the fleas within the dog's normal territory (both inside and out), but you have to keep treating every month.

You're going to have to bomb your house and/or call an exterminator. A friend of mine recently had a flea infestation in her home and she doesn't even have indoor animals...they must have come in on her pants from outside. Anyhoo, she tried the bomb thing...afterwards an exterminator will advise you to vacuum thoroughly, change the bag and vacuum again. She did this all twice and still had a problem. She ended up having to call an exterminator who gave her a can of some kind of spray that she had to saturate her carpet with and wait a few hours and vacuum thoroughly, change the bad and repeat. It finally worked. Good luck...fleas are nasty creatures!

I have had the same problem and the best thing i found is a Raid fogger. It produced a smoke like vapor instead of a liquid mist so it stays in the air for hours and gets into small cracks. it comes in a blue box in packs of 3 and to activate them you put them in a small cup (supplied) of water. you should be able to find them at Lowes, home depot, or walmart.

You should use a mixture of boric acid and salt. Boric acid acts as a desiccant and dries out the exoskeleton of the flea, but does not have any side effect on human beings or animals. Check this out http://pests.in/fleas.html

Hi,Fronline is one of the best products, since using this product on my kitten for 3 months he has not had a single one on him. I used "Bob Martins " flea bombs (one for each room is recommended.) 3 months ago and these completely got rid of them in my home,I found sprays never got rid of them completely.
