Please go another vet first thing in the morning or call a different vet and get an appointment now! Your little girl is very sick and urgently needs proper medical attention but you already know that, thats why your keeping yourself awake about it! She got worse after her vac's because the vac is in fact the germ that would kill your dog in the long run if she didn't have it now! Its too long to explain now as you've got some phoning around to do! If you really can't find a vet ( i'm sorry mate i don't know where you are ) at this hour then just make your little girl comfortable and make sure she has water nearby when she needs it. You'll have to stay with her throughout the night but i know you won't mind, keep her warm, but not too warm and if she's sick or messes herself, don't make a fuss! Its only mess and can be cleaned up! If you can, could you let us know how she gets on please? I'll be praying for her, and for you of course, god bless x

Sounds like Distemper to me. Could be Parvo as others have said but that is often accompanied by Diarhea which you did not mention.

They both can be fatal and the risk is greater for puppies than it is for adult dogs.

They are both highly contagious among unvaccinated dogs.

If the vet you took her to yesterday was not concerned, and I assume that must be the case since you are asking here, I would take her to a different vet to get a second opinion immediately. Do not delay. If the dog has been sick for two days I'm sure it's already suffering from dehydration and should be put on fluids.

If you take the dog to a different vet be sure to explain to the vet that the dog was just vaccinated and the illness was present before the she was given the vaccinations.

EDIT: If the vet said she's not well and didn't do anything that's a sure sign it's time to take her to a different vet.
What would you do if you took your car into the shop because it keeps stalling and all the Mechanic said was "yep, there's something wrong with it"? You'd get a new mechanic is what you would do.

Sorry about your dog - I've had a Springer since he was a pup (he's four now). My guess is that the change in food (now she's with you) plus the change in environment has upset her tummy. Also vaccinations can upset their systems and I expect she'll get better in a day or so. The redness in her eyes is more than likely an indication that she's off colour and also that she's a bit stressed because of all the changes in her life. I would just try and make sure she drinks some fresh water - it's important that she doesn't get dehydrated - and keep her warm. And if she's no better tomorrow, go back to the vet for advice. If that vet isn't any help, maybe contact another one for advice. Hope this helps

it sounds like your dog has a virus which has lowered her immune system and having the vaccine will make her feel bad as well
it i would reccomend trying a different vet as a good vet will only vaccinate a healthy dog.
a young dog dehydrates quickly so offer fluids (use chicken flavouring if necessary)
if she doesn't want this take her straight to the vet and do not leave untill she is on a drip and being treated
ANY vet even one you are not registered to will treat a sick dog and I'm afraid your dog sounds very very sick

Sorry to hear how unwell your pup is. Everyone is saying you need to get her to the vet ASAP because there really isn't anything people can say on here to be of any real help. That isn't to say you are being irresponsible.

I hope you manage to get her sorted. Why on earth did the vet vaccinate her if she was already unwell before he did it? Her immunity would of been down and low because she would of been fighting off what ever it was making her ill before she was vaccinated.

Has she been able to drink water still? I DO hope she is OK. I am worried now!
-Regards & good luck.

Hi there, dogs can be like children. Sometimes when you get kids vaccinated they can be ill for a few days afterwards its like an allergic reaction, so maybe your dogs just taking an allergic reaction. Just make sure she gets enough fluids and if shes still vomiting in 48 hours take her back to the vets and they should put her on a saline drip to get fluids into her. But dont worry this is more common than you think. Good Luck let us know if she gets better

If your dog as a bit poorly and had a vaccination the dogs immune system was lowered and is having a hard job fighting the vaccine. They inject mild dose of the virus into the dog so it develops immunity. My dog gets really ill after his vaccination every year exactly like you describe. If she does not shrug it off in 2 days tops or gets worse at all.Ask for a different vet.My dog stays in his bed for 2 days after .

You need to try to get fluids in to her , Take her back to your vet and tell him that she is really poorly , he must be a **** if he cant see that , try a diff vet , until then try her on boiled chicken and rice this is good for settling her tummy , but fluids are a must, pinch her skin between your fingers if it goes back straight away she is OK at the moment if not and it stays prominent then your in trouble , try to trickle water into her mouth . To be fair your vet sounds pan ta if he still gave her vaccines when she is unwell !!!!!!

Take her back to the vet get a second opinion you must do this your dog seems very very sick. Do not take "she is not well" as a diagnosis you want answers, blood tests, stool tests etc done and analysed she should be kept at the vets and put on a drip as she will no doubt be dehydrated. Please don't hesitate take he now or you may well loose her!
