My cat had kittens 3 weeks ago. She had 4 and 2 died. The two that are remaining are doing wonderfully. A friend I work with said that she found a stray about the same age as my kittens with no mommy. I have read and heard that a nursing cat will take in a kitten that is not their own and feed it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

How well did it work for you? How much did you spend on classes?

I'm all set to get a Mini Schnauzer around the beginning of December and I want to bring her up right. I've had a Schnauzer before but this will be my first puppy on my own. I was looking at the training classes at PetSmart and I'm curious to know what expieriences (if any) you've had with them. I'm open to other suggestions, preferably something with other dogs so she can socialize. I am in the Denver Metro area, FYI, and I am on a budget, so nothing too extravagant! lol Thanks!

I use Interceptor for my dog. The breeder from where I got my dog used Heartgard before for her. My vet always gives her Interceptor. I was talking with the breeder and I told her the vet gave me interceptor for the dog and she said not to use that anymore. That it was dangerous.
I just wanted to know if is true that Interceptor is dangerous (not that I dont believe the breeder, I just want to know why is it dangerous), and If Heartguard is in fact better than Interceptor...

I appreciate all your help... =)

My husband is allergic to cat hair and has an ocd cleaning thing so he doesnt want to see animal hair anywhere or he'll end up taking it to the pound. When we got a puppy , we had to pay 1000 or more to get a Yorkie because they don't shed. Well I am an animal lover. Especially cats. Does anyone know a certain kind that does not shed or doesn't shed alot. Or a cat that is good for people or are allergic? or something to put on the cat that helps?

I want answers from people with this experience, not stuff you heard on tv. They aren't always right.

I have been using Frontline Plus on my 6 months old Husky. I was just wondering what is the best control method that prevents and kills fleas and ticks. She spends so much time in the backyard and we are always going hiking and all that, I just want to make sure she is protected against everything... Well at least almost everything...
I've been doing so research and found some other products that apparently work better than Frontline (Bio Spot, SentryPro, etc) But because I've never used any of those I'd like some info on them, if they are safe, and if they are in fact better than Frontline at protecting the dogs.

As always I appreciate your help... =)

Eeeeek dropped a clanger, dd wanted a fish tank so I let her buy what she could afford, without really looking into it.

My Dad has two big aquariums and never seemed to have to do much with them and they all survived.

So I thought it would be easy, I brought tank followed instructions, put in water conditioner, added some sort of bacteria for two weeks and a couple of live plants, and today when to fish shop and ask what else i needed, she said nothing and sold me 4 small orange, apparantly easy to look after fish.

She didn't mention testing the water, so I'm now worried that they will all croak overnight, as it appears I would have been better off with two! I'm off to test the water in the morning so is there anything i need to look out for.

And if all goes well how many fish can I put in the tank in total?

My vet suggested manual manipulations for my cat (under sedation) to see if he could sense an intestinal blockage( I thought that my cat had a lodged hairball, he was vomitting and not eating). He then said that his x-ray machine was down, and he would have to open him up if he could not detect anything with his hands.... I agreed without further thought.... My cat underwent the operation, but other than a normal amount of stool in his intestine, there was no blockage. He has been there for two days now, and when they try to feed him, he still vomits. For now they have injected him with something to inhibit the vimitting, and are tube feeding him. I'm waiting to see how this works out.... I was wondering if anyone knows anything about how this particular situation is normally treated. I feel that the vet is at fault.... He should have sent me to another clinic for an x-ray.... What do you think I should do? What recourse do I have ?

Thank you all in advance :)

I got a kitten about 1 month ago, and I'm not sure if this is just a stage but for a while he's been really playful and he keeps biteing me and he's been biteing hard, and I hit him (not too hard or anything) and/or squirt him with water but he still does it. My other cats I've had sense they were babies didn't do this according to my memory, anyone know if this is just a stage and if he'll grow out of it or is it a problem?

How long did it take before it was gone?
Did it come back?

my friend has a Presa Canario pup (10wks old) i would love to get it and my kids are crazy about it. But i am not sure what to do. I will have 8 sessions with a trainer if i get it. But knowing the rep that this breed has i am afraid it might hurt my kids when it gets bigger, i know any breed of dog could do that. So that if my problem. If anyone that has kids and one of these dogs could let me know what they think i would be very grateful. I have a 11yr old boy and a 5yr and 2yr old girls. they have been wanting to get a dog and this just popped up because my friend is moving and can't have but one dog, i hate to see the dog go to the pound or worse to someone that will use it for fighting. which is what has been done alot with this breed of dogs. so please anyone that has any info i would be very happy to hear from you. thanks

I wanted to raise a puppy as a therapy dog, but I have a question. There are laws saying service dogs must be allowed admittance everywhere; does this apply to service dogs?

Hi All,

First of all, I have a vet appointment today to get it look at, so I am looking for other information, similar situations, and if i should have to pay for any of the med. bills. My puppy was spayed about a month ago and her internal sutures still have not absorbed, even though they said they were absorbable. We adopted her sister out about a week after sugery and the new family told us she got a really bad infection from the internal stitches not dissolving and had to have them manually removed. I looked at Sadie's scar last night and realized I could see and feel her stitches also. Everything looks healed, but the stitches are clearly still there and she has started to get a red bump over one of the knots. Anyone else had this happen? If the vet has to do a procedure, the same vet who put in the stitches, should I still be required to pay? Anything else is appreciated!!

My dog and the neighbot dog are digging under the chain link fence. I only have so much wood to make a little barrier under the fence and the neighbor is too lazy to make anything on his side. Is there stuff that I can put on the spot where they dig to deter them? Like an irritant or something? Not poisen.
