I wanted to raise a puppy as a therapy dog, but I have a question. There are laws saying service dogs must be allowed admittance everywhere; does this apply to service dogs?

Therapy dogs are those that visit nursing homes, hospitals, etc. do not have to legally be allowed admittance everywhere. A true service dog would legally be allowed admittance anywhere, just like a seeing eye dog.

Therapy dogs are for nursing homes, and hospitals,

However i dont get your question , " there are laws saying service dogs must be allowed admittance everywhere; does this apply to service dogs."

I guess so because you did say the laws allow them to go everywhere. However you do need a license for a service or therapy dog i think

Therapy dogs are at least in my state, have to be certified. I cant just bring my Golden's anywhere I want to. I must be invited to come and I must have a health certificate stating that they are cleared to go into any particular nursing home or school or where ever I was invited to bring them. Also If I know I am bringing them somewhere They have to be bathed and brushed so they do not bring anything in with them. Therapy dogs need training and they need a lot of it. It should be done by a qualified trainer and you for just this type of work too.

Service dogs are entirely different matter. These dogs are trained by trainers for their specific need. They are home raised by volunteers unitl 6-9 months old and then they start their training in a training facitity geared for that dogs qualities.

Service dogs in training in most states do NOT have to be allowed everywhere... it is up to the business owner to decide whether to allow them or not.

Trained Service Dogs can go almost anywhere.

Therapy dogs generally are not allowed anywhere except where they are acting in a therapeutic manner. Some (very few) states allow "therapy dogs" to act as Service Dogs for emotional support.

Service dogs are legally allowed to go anywhere... about the only exception is an operating room. I would suggest if you want to volunteer to raise a puppy, that you contact an organization that trains dogs as there are requirements that need to be met and they often look for volunteers to raise puppies.

Therapy Dogs are Canine Good Citizens. Well behaved pooches used in Nursing Homes, etc... They are not Service Dogs and the rules for Service Dogs do not apply to them.

there's a large difference in what a treatment dogs is and what a provider dogs is... A treatment dogs dose no longer have public get admission to! and basically works under the intentions of supporting a place they're legally coated which includes a school, wellbeing center and such yet no the place else! A provider dogs Aides someone with Disabilities with their disabilities. as a fashion to be legally coated for a SD, you will desire to be defined as Disabled. Then while education the dogs to be the two State and federally coated in public places you will desire to be on their MI State ADA coach record. in case you haven't any longer experienced a SD in the past please seek for a coach! you could touch the MI Civil Rights/DOJ to get the running shoes record information for running shoes. A dogs in education isn't risk-free under the ADA/DOJ. and each state has it is own regulations concerning SD's in education.
