I've had gsd's for years, there are two distinct breeding lines English and German. German bred dogs are harder, unflappable, steadier temperaments. English breeding can be nervous, unsteady, and unpredictable. As for angry, no, but my big German bred dog gets angry when he occasionally hurts himself.. he expresses pain with anger, he growls like a bear until it's subsided, but he's never got aggressive with it.

there the best dogs in the world, my dad breeds them i have 3 now. There may be dogs that are faster there may be dogs that are stronger but add up all the things a shepherd is capable of doing and it comes out on top all the time. No other dog is as versatile as them. As for angry dogs no not at all they are more than capable of being aggressive uncontrollable dogs if you let them but this is down to inexperienced owners of which Ive seen many. With a shepherd its all about training they love it they love to please there owner and properly trained German shepherd are truly magnificent dogs to own.

It really depends on how you treat them. But some may be angry for no apparent reason because the German Shepherd was originally bread to be a guard dog. Not sure why its called a german shepherd though

My oldest German Shepherd is 12years old. In his 12 years he has never shown aggression towards any person. However he will not tolerate any other male dogs in his space. We do not allow our bitches to run together after a falling out between two kennel mates some years ago. I had a friend who ran a boarding kennels, she would exercise all her boarders together except for the GSD's.
I hope this helps.

Not if they are bred from good stock (ie ones with no temperament problems) and treated and trained well.

My inlaws have a GSD and she is the biggest, softest, most affectionate, sweetest bundle of fur on earth! She comes from a good breeder and my father in law is an ex-police dog trainer so he knows what he's doing with her, as a result she's lovely.

They are not suitable for the inexperienced or those who don't have enough time and space for them though. They do need a firm, experienced hand to get the best out of them.

No totally the opposite, they are loyal, loving ( to their people) protective and can be aloof.
as long as the dog has good lines, not a b y b dog, is trained and treated well they are the best dogs around, i have two they are growing up with my children and no problems at all the children respect the dogs and the dogs adore the children. this breed is often maligned as the dogs fall into the hands of some peole who shouldnt be dog owners. the dogs are untrained and allwed to get away with bad behaviour. You have to show your boss through training/

Only when you don't let them win at poker!
Seriously, do you mean are they aggressive dogs? If that is the question, the answer is- it depends, they can be, any dog can be. If you go to the AKC.org web site, you can get all of the information about the breeds history, purpose, physical characteristics, etc. As one of the most popular breeds, I'm sure you can find a lot of information, breed clubs, etc. on line.

A breed of the dog is not going to tell you if they are happy or angry. Personality doesn't come from breen just as much as how it doesn't come with race in humans.
You need to look at were the individual dog came form, it's background and such, not thier breed.

No, not unless they are unsocialized and abused or mentally unstable due to poor breeding. I never liked shepherds, until my husband insisted we have one. I always found them to be very 'blah' to most people. Ours is 'blah' to most people too- but she loves US to death and would do anything to protect us and make us happy. Great dogs- to THEIR people. Many people are bitten by them every year because their owners forget they can be very protective and easily mis-read the actions of others as threats towards their pack, even if they're not.

Take your canines to the vet for a whole actual because of the fact that it particularly isn't any longer conventional habit. If he gets a sparkling invoice of well being, neuter him ASAP because of the fact that this might help quite and a canines with this temperment shouldn't in any respect be bred. next, touch a behaviorist and get your canines some help or you are going to finally end up putting him to sleep for this habit.
