I have been using Frontline Plus on my 6 months old Husky. I was just wondering what is the best control method that prevents and kills fleas and ticks. She spends so much time in the backyard and we are always going hiking and all that, I just want to make sure she is protected against everything... Well at least almost everything...
I've been doing so research and found some other products that apparently work better than Frontline (Bio Spot, SentryPro, etc) But because I've never used any of those I'd like some info on them, if they are safe, and if they are in fact better than Frontline at protecting the dogs.

As always I appreciate your help... =)

I use frontline on my dog and it works great! We used several other store bought brands and had tick problems until we switched to frontline. Our dog goes into the woods, grassy areas, dog parks, and swimming and the frontline has worked wonderfully. They also have the one that works against mosquitos and that is good too.

I can remember back in the old days, yes I am old, using flea shampoo, flea powder and flea collars and still sitting around squishing fleas on the dog. Now days I have been using Frontline and later Frontline Plus on my dogs, the oldest is nine years old, and have almost forgotten what a flea looks like. I have never seen a flea on any of my four dogs. I swear by Frontline Plus. Oh yes, I have never seen a tick.

I paintings at a vet health center, and the only flea products we grant are Frontline Plus and Revolution. we can particular order Advantix if somebody likes to apply that quite. The Promeris rep got here in to our health center attempting to get us to sell the product, yet we've not yet. Promeris is meant to have a clean drug in it that the fleas and ticks have in no way seen before. notwithstanding it additionally feels like the pets have in no way seen it before the two, and is inflicting a good number of allergies. thank you for Posing this!!! i will look into it greater and permit the Veterinarian be attentive to, so we don't ever positioned this product on our cabinets.

Frontline Plus is the best and only form of flea/tick preventive that we sell at our clinic. There are other ones out there that are cheaper, but might not be as effective.

I used Biospot when we had our dog and it was great! I bought it from a mail order company. It's been so long ago that I forgot the name of the company. However, I am sure if you go online looking for dog and cat supplies you might find a wholesaler that will sell it to you. If you buy it this way for, say, a year's supply, it would cost you lesser in the long run. It is worth it.
Biospot is easy to apply and if I remember right, I used it for once a month only. It prevents mosquitoes from biting your pet and thus, prevent heartworms too.

The best I have come across is Advantage and Sentinel. Our Sibe started out on Advantage and we never had problems with it.
The only reason we switched to Sentinel was because it also covers heart worms and other worms. Plus it sterilizes the fleas so even if they do get on the Sibe, they can't reproduce.

I have used both frontline and advantage on my huskies and they both work great. If it works now I would stick with it until it quits working.
