No. Guinea pigs get bacterial upper respiratory problems, not cold viruses. See this link for detailed info and care:

I don't believe guinea pigs and humans can exchange sicknesses, however the very best thing to treat your pig with right now is Vitamin C. I use Vitakraft Orange Drops on mine and they love them. They actually just got over a sickness because my boyfriend left the window in their room open at night and it was 45 degrees out that night. They each got colds, but once I got them on 2 orange drops a day they slowly cleared up and became active again. Good luck! Also, if you need it asap, try just getting a pack of unsweetened orange drink mix or tang and add a little to their water bottle.

Yes, it is possible. People can catch colds from guinea pigs, guinea pigs can catch colds from people. I knew a person a while back who kept trading the cold from her and her guinea pig back and forth. if your guinea pig is sick he will sneeze and wipe mucus onto his front legs; if they are crusty or gooey then he probably is sick. To help make him better give a pea sized lump of vitamin c powder in his water bottle. also, hay, a clean cage, and a steady temperature will help. As for you, Airborne is awesome for healing colds and it works really fast. It tastes gross in a whole cup of water but in only like 3-4 tablespoons of water it's just like gatorade seriously! So...that's that.

They cannot catch your cold or flu, the virus is species specific.

He could be allergic to the bedding in his cage. If he has discharge from his nose, take him to the vet for Baytril mediciation. Upper Respatory Infection (URI) is often fatal to Cavy.
