Talk to your vet.

The pups have fleas if the mother has them.

Change the bedding several times a day (the fleas lay eggs there).

In a few weeks (or if the vet says its ok) Dawn dish detergent works... you have to apply it half strength on a DRY dog, lather and let it sit for 10 minutes. Fleas will all die or climb to her head so you have to comb her head out with a flea comb. Rinsing takes forever but be sure to rinse really really well... then follow by washing with a dog conditioning shampoo.

Yes you can bathe, but the shampoo is optional. If it was just cause she was dirty that would be fine, but since it is flea shampoo that you are wanting to use I would suggest that you not. Call your vet though they may have a suggestion for you.
They also have drops that you can put on the skin behind the neck that might be safe just cause it is in one spot in a more hidden place.
Consult your vet first.

Don't bother- if mom's got fleas, the pups will too, and you sure as heck can't wash five day old puppies. Don't put flea spray on mom either, as that can't be good for tiny pups. Frontline box says it can be used on pregnant or lactating dogs, but I would check with your vet first. Can't be used on the pups until they are 8 weeks old.

Thats fine, just rinse her well and use a gentle soapfree shampoo. We recommend a few drops of Advantage on the mom for fleas.

With the puppies still nursing, i wouldn't use a flea shampoo on her. You can bathe her in human shampoo, it won't hurt her, i just wouldn't with flea shampoo because of the pups.

You should contact your vet and ask him how best to deal with the fleas.. Fleas should have been taken care of prior to breeding her.. You shouldn't bath her with anything that will affect the puppies.. One thing you don't want to poison them.. and you don't want her to smell like flea medication and risk them not wanting to feed from her.

itz better not to bathe the ***** cause the shampoo residues may still be on her and the pups maybe poisioned when the feed. on top of tat, the pups use their sense of smell to locate the mum and the milk. i didn' bathe the mum till like abt 1 1/2 mths and tat was when the pups has their eyes opened
