Hi. We have a stray on our porch right now. She has worms (we saw them) Is there anyway to get rid of worms without a visit to the vet? I am sure she belongs to someone, she has a flea collar and is not scared of us. Anyway I just don't have the funds for a visit to the vet. Thanks

We recently acquired an approx. 2 year old Great Dane three weeks ago. She has been eating and drinking water normally but the past day she has been drinking very minimally and not eating at all. She will eat the dog treats but not food. We switched the food to something she had eaten previously but will not eat that either. She is not vomiting, does not have diarrhea but is more lethargic than normal. She doesn't appear to be in any pain and will come when called. Any suggestions?

I would also like to say thanks to everyone that had answered my last question, it really helped getting input from different points of view, im not gonna put the betta in the 20 gallon community and im just gonna leave him where he is, in a 1.5 gal filtered tank with a light and everything, hes happy where he is. Thanks again..... on another note

I know 6 gallon is small, but its the largest tank i have space for at this time, so is there anyway i can start a cichlid tank in it? with smaller chichlids? if not.... are there any sudgestions of fish that will be ok to live in there? and anything but guppies, neon tetras, platies mollies, and swordtails. Thanks a lot,

I've got a male betta fish, and he's not as active as when i first got him. He floats at the top in one spot, or nosedives to the bottom and just lays there. He won't eat, and his tail fins keep getting matted up. Is there something I can do? Is this a phase they go thru? Is he dying? Or does he need to mate? i don't want to loose him, and i don't kow where to go for answers. Please Help!! I keep his water clean.

My family recently found an orange and white kitten that was in need of a good home and even though we have four other cats we decided to keep him. We have had him for about 2 months and he was good for the first few weeks until we found sheets and blankets which smelled of cat urine. We didn't know if it was this new little guy (he is 4 to 5 months) or our older male cat (almost 3 years old). Both of the male cats are neutered but we thought our older cat might be marking his territory from the new kitten but recently I caught our new kitten urinating on a bag in our basement. Like I said he is neutered and he uses the litter box to defecate but not to urinate. Any Suggestions?

I have a female black lab mix about 5 years old. When we are out walking and I run into a guy that I think is attractive, she will start barking at them. She doesn't seem to pay any attention unless the guy is interesting. It's kind of annoying.

I had always thought that walking your dog was a good way to meet guys. You know "Oh, what a cute dog. What's her name?" and then the conversation goes on from there. Not with my dog it doesnt. She lets them know right away that SHE'S not interested. Anybody have suggestions or similar experiences?

My 15 year old cat got her shots on Saturday (everything she was supposed to get). Since then, she has been very lethargic...not eating much, does not want to be picked up or held, not affectionate (normally she loves attention), walking as if she is lame in her right hind leg, does not want to play, does not purr at all...

Granted she is a "senior cat" but she has never been like this after vaccinations before. In the past, she would be mad for a few hours and then be fine. I'm getting worried about her. She does not seem to have a fever and she is drinking water and using the litter box. Basically, she wants to be left alone.

Has anyone had this problem with an older cat? Do I need to take her back to the vet or should I just watch her and see how she does over the next few days? She's not limping but she's walking like her leg is sore. Her belly is cool to the touch and there is no drainage/swelling from her eyes, nose or injection sites.

Any advice would be appreciated.

about 4 months ago, I found a 1 wk. old kitten in our back
yard. 4 months later we have a kitten, who for the most part can be very loving. But sometimes he can be a little monster-- biting 'til he draws blood. I'm sure there are reasons for
this-- since he was hand-raised and never had a mom or siblings to teach him that biting hurts and it's not okay...But it's driving me nuts.

I've tried everything I've read about (from playing to squirting to scruffing), but nothing seems to work.
