i hate them!im gunna tell yah the truth! im really scared of them they freak me out!

i absolutly adore them.
its ok if you dont like them. everyone has a fear
i have a hairless and a hooded rat.
they are very clean sweet boys.

When I was a kitten, I was afraid of them too b/c I was told that they were 'mean.' I'm sooo glad I learned the truth-- rats are smart, sweet & affectionate. They make great companions. Even after living with & loving several rats, it still took me awhile to get used to their tails-- now I'm not sure why the tails ever bothered me.
We have 4 rats now-- 2 beautiful pink-eyed-white (PEW) brothers we adopted from a rescue, a 'nutty' but sweet hairless girl from a breeder & a snuggly black hooded girl from PetSmart.
Don't worry too much about being afraid of them-- when we got our girl from PetSmart we had to wait around for a person who wasn't afraid to *show* us the rats.

Typical............For years many people have been scared of rodents, rats espiecially. They have been known as vermin! When I was younger I was scared of them too. I never thought I would have three rodents living in my house. I know many people that have been scared of them, but as soon as they meet my pets, they are not so scared of them anymore. My mom still won't hold them, but she has gotten really close to them without freaking out. My sis used to be scared of them, but now she adores them. She holds them all the time. I have a friend that has held my mouse before. She was kinda weirded out, because she felt the little heart beat on her hands, but she lived. Rats are not really that bad, you just have to give them a chance.

They're so much smarter and cleaner than mice, hamsters, gerbils, and even some cats and dogs I've met. My oldest girl follows me around the house and gets depressed if I can't take her out.

It's common for people to have an irrational fear of rats. In truth, they are gentle, loving, clean and social animals. Can a dog sit on your shoulder while you're walking down the street?

Don't worry about it, everyone has some sort of phobia or another. Take me, for example, I'm terrified of roller coasters ^^.
They actually make fantastic pets--it's surprising, and I wouldn't have believed it myself until meeting my friend's rats, but they're very much like tiny little dogs.
They're quite affectionate and sweet, and I've never been bitten by one. Not once :).

ME ME ME I LUV THEM I'VE HAD THREE AND THEY WERE THE SWEETEST !!! Rats only freak you out because of their bad reps and titles for being vicious, ugly, nasty, disease carrying, lice ridden, virmin ! they are the best to me !
