This question is in respect of using tap water for fish tanks and home brewed ginger beer - I do not want to use de-chlorinating chemicals.

I just got him 2 days ago and he won't go in the litter box.
I have 2 other cats and 2 litter boxes but when I put him in there he just jumps out, then I catch him going somewhere else.
Is this normal? Will it stop?

I also have another cat he is older and has no problems with using his litter box. I have 2 litter boxes and keep them clean. So why does she do this?

I have 4 cats and two of them are not fat but they are long haired and have excess skin so it makes them quite large and they are tall. I dont have a cat flap i usely let them out/in the door when they want to go out or come in. the only problem is they always come in and out so i was thinking about getting a cat flap but that might be too small for the big ones. so i was thinking more about a dog flap! lol. I've seen them before but aren't they dangerous. A skinny man might get through one or be able to stick a pole though it at night and grab stuff from my house! i know it sounds silly but are they safe?

My sister usually steps on it and told me to do so too becuase any human with a heart for animals would do so. Would you step on it to release it from it´s suffering or would you let it die by it´s injuries ?

I am taking lessons on how to train assestance dogs for the handicaped.

My question is how do I find a responsible breeder? I want to find Golden Retrivers, German Shepherds and Labs?

Are there any other breed that would make good assestence dogs?

I know not to buy off the internet or newspapers. I want to know the puppy I buy to train was tooken care of at the breeders home.

How do I find breed rescues?

i am having NO luck with my search, and this seems very odd, as this is the principle treatment for dogs with epilepsy/seizure disorder, and i believe it has been for a long time. the vet price is reasonable but should be cheaper from an online source one would think.

Ok so heres my story. My 8 year old maltese had 4 seizures today (2 in the morning and 2 consecutively later within the day) now, about 6 years ago she had her first seizure and ever since then she showed no more signs of epilpesy until now. She was taken to the vet and given a prescription of phenoarbital but she still had a few fits after takeing it. Now my question is how she ever goin to "get out of it" whenever she seizured she'd become extremly disorientated, walking in circles continously, bumping into things and unresponsive to my presense and she'd never recover fully enough until her next one and its the rinse, repeat, cycle process all over again. Im not sure what im going to do i dont know when the medication will take effect.

So earlier I asked a question about my puppy. Now I think I've pinpointed the real issue. I really do not think that 8 hours in a crate is the way to go. Bedtime I can see being in a crate, but all day in a crate seems psychologically damaging for a puppy. It is not likely that some one can come home and let her out every day. will the kitchen suffice for now until she is old enough? She will get plenty of exercise in the evening and morning after she gets the rest of her vaccinations in approx. two weeks if I am not mistaken.

My cat likes to be in the bathroom when I take a shower. She sits on the counter and paws at the mirror for the whole time I'm in the shower. Does anyone know why she does that?? :-)

My male cat will not clean his nose. My daughter usually picks his nose, but he tries to get away from her. There are black boogers at the sides of his nose and it is very gross.
How can I get my cat to clean his nose?

And yes, this is the same cat who can't bathe himself.

We run a buisness where people are in and out all day...and I have to watch out for him cause he'll either act like he's licking the air...or trying to bite you when you pet him....near his tail, or around his back hips

it goes something like this __and when we pass away you will cross over a bridge and find your beloved friend there waiting for you,my vet in florida sent me a sympathy card with this little poem in it when my guinea pig died,if you get the chance read it,it will make you cry,as it has a lot of meaning to it,it may be called over the rainbow bridge.

I always thought all breeds of dogs had whiskers. Somebody recently told me that some breeds do not, does anyone know if this is true? The only dogs I've seen without whiskers were ones that had them shaved off.

I have a boston terrier who is 2 months old and he bites all the time! He doesn't chew up furniture or clothes, he just plays too rough. We popped him on the nose (gently) and said "no" in a stern voice, but nothing works. Any suggestions?

We have been feeding our new cat canned food because that is what the shelter said she preffered. However, we just got back from the vet and learned she has gingivitis. I have also heard that most canned food is essentially the same thing as giving your pets junk food or candy. What's the answer?
