My Vet sent me this poem in a card when I had to put down my dog last year. I just went to see his memorial engraved brick at the entrance to the NC State Vet Hospital this afternoon, so I've been crying all day. This brings everything back to me. It is a poem that I will always carry in my heart as a remembrance of my beloved, but never-to-be-forgotten little man.

Sorry about your guinea pig. I know you will always remember it fondly. Best to you.

yes it is called over the rainbow bridge. My vet gave it to me with a flower when i had to put my best friend of 15 years down. just seeing you ask that question brought back memories and I now have that poem framed in my house. It says its from unknown but the person who wrote it definetly has helped a lot of people get over that very hard time in their lives.

Yes, when my grandmothers dog died. I found her a beautiful rainbow bridge pic. Added a pic of her dog to it. And beside it put the poem. I framed it and gave it to her to hang on her wall. She bragged to everyone about it and just cried and cried. She's in really bad health and probably want be with us too much longer. I'm glad I did something for her she loves so much.

wow...I started crying as long as I finished reading it...
I completely understand and empathize with your feelings, I lost my 9 years old cat and it was so painful that it still hurts in my heart, I still miss her, I have another kitten and love her but it will never replace the other one. What can I say...this is something that only pet/animal lovers will understand.
Don't worry, you are not the only one who still has feelings.
I have to congratulate you for having such warm feelings for animals. :) Nice poem.
