pal·pate1 (păl'pāt')
tr.v., -pat·ed, -pat·ing, -pates.
To examine or explore by touching (an organ or area of the body), usually as a diagnostic aid.

To Palpate means you feel around an area for any abnormalities or the absence of abnormalities. For example, when you go to the doctor and he 'palpates' (feels) your abdomen to make sure your intestines are normal without masses. Hope this helps.

To palpate means to feel something with your hand. For example, when the vet palpates your dog's stomach, he gently squeezes it to check for growths, abnormal liver or kidney size, and checks if the dog is constipated. At that point, if he palpates and feels something fishy like a growth or tumor, he may do x-rays to rule out any serious problems.

Different translations of the bible would suggest love and charity are synonmus. Examples found in.1st Corrinthians ch. 13 vs. 1-17 illustrate this many times. I would enjoy hearing from a scholar of the languages used in those past times to clarify my understanding. The story of the "World's Poorest Philanthropist", Gilbert "Harold" Ewing II (myself) is the reason for this querry. The " act of grace", or charity, reffered to in the news interview, has posited this question and I lack the sort of education to provide any insights of true value.
