I won hermies at the fair and one is missing its large claw. Will it grow back?

It may take a few molts but it will grow back. you may notice a "gel" claw forming just before a molt. Just be sure & leave your crab alone when it is molting, don't dig it up, or disturb it, you could kill it.

Your Hermie will grow another claw. This happens in the wild all the time with them fighting with each other or defending themselves from predators. The large claw is for actually attracting a female and not used for feeding themselves. It will take awhile for the new claw to grow back but rest assured it will.

I had a hermit crab that lost its claw because it pinched me and wouldn't let go i put it under hot water wouldn't let go the end of my pinki finger started turning colors lol so we had to cut the claw it grew back after a while wasn't as big but it should be fine
