just bought an aquarium and bought a heater and don't know if it is working is there any way to figure if it is? it is a marine land stealth heater and is expensive. The heater is put in just the way the directions say so, is there a certain way everything is suppose to go?

She is a pitbull she killed her mate she is aggressive troward other people animal control has threatened to euthanize her and no trainer will come and work with her I really don't want to euthanize her but I don't know what else to do

She only barks when scared, and it's more like whinning. She doesn't even bark when she is around other dogs, even if the other ones are barking. I have not ever heard her bark. Any idea why?

Our family cat has two hairless patchs on his side. They are about the size of a quarter. They do not seem to be spreading or causing him discomfort. The skin looks very dry. Any ideas what this is and a cure?

I have a sponge filter with an air pump and the bubbles sound like a cauldron boiling. Is there anyway I can make them quiet? Are there different filters that dont produce such loud bubbles?

I had a fish tank for like 2 weeks with fish in it... I started off with 2 angels and one gourami. one angel died the first day. Then the other but the gourami was fine. Now theres 2 loaches, a catfish, one gourami, a tricolor shark. its a 55 gallon tank with a 60 power filter waterfall thing. The water is really cloudy now and it looks like yellow or green. What do i do? I bought a gravel vac that didnt work, so i just used a bucket to get some of the water out and do a water change. Then i bought a battery powered gravel vac and its still bad. What else should i do?

Hi all,

My boyfriend and I have 2 1 year old cats, the one who im talking about today is a male and is usually a very quiet scared cat. Today, he was playing in the back yard and he was near a bush that had thorns on it. We're still not sure if he hurt himself off the bush but my boyfriend called him inside he came in my boy friend checked his back paw for injuries as he was licking his paw like crazy. He was holding him for about 5 mins and then the cat just locked onto his hand (bit him) and scratched all down his arms. He was also hissing and my boyfriend was (and still is) in really bad shock. We cannot figure out why this happened and were terrified it may happen again!! He is neutered so he couldn't be in heat!

This is completely out of character for him, why did he do this??

Also my boyfriend has had a tetnus shot but still feels a bit ill/shocked as in nausea could this be from the bites?

ok i found out my dog was messing around with another dog my dog is a pure bred rotty the other was a mutt anyway the vets told me that they would spay her but how long does the operation last? what do i do when she gets home? and how long will she be at the vet? oh one more question who long will i have to look out for her?

Today I bought a Figure 8 puffer, aquarium salt, and freeze-dried bloodworms.The puffer lives in a 2 gallon tank, and seems happy in it. I wanted to know whether or not freeze-dried bloodworms are right for it. The guy working at Petco said it was fine, and the Puffer shows interest in the worms. Thanks for any help.
