I'm amazed at how much cat poop I'm scooping every day! I've never had a cat before so I might be overreacting, but still...

The higher quality the food, the less poo there will be. Poor quality dry foods are full of grains that a cat cannot digest... and it becomes poo.

I highly recommend you have your cat examined by a vet and take some poo with you for a fecal exam juist to be certain all is well.

If your cat is pooping more then once a day consistently then something may be wrong. Many cats don't even go every day.
Is your cat losing weight? If so you do need a vets appontment. If not then try some acidoupholus in the food.
BTW, are you feeding quality canned foods???

Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have heard, dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. The problems with it are that they are loaded with carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. Most of the moisture a cat needs is gotten
out of the food and 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Also, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.
You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Please read about cat nutrition.

Cats usually pee twice and poop once. The bulk part of the poop depends on how much filler (grain, corn, vegetative matter) was added to the dry or wet food.

Depending on the size of your cat, it could vary. I've got a big 15 pound cat who puts out like a dog, and a 10 pound cat who only does about 1/2" wide by 3" long poops.

It really depends on how old the cat is...kittens crap a lot more than adults do. (I would know...we foster kittens for a rescue organization...7 of them...4 litter boxes) I also have 2 adult cats and we only have to clean their litter box once a day...we clean the kitten's at least 2 if not 3 times a day.

It depends on what your cat eats, its weight and digestive system. Just like humans they are all different. I wouldn't worry is this has always been the norm for your cat.

Not sure, though I've read it can decrease if the cat is fed really high quality food (because they will eat less of it and it has less fillers that they don't need.)

As long as it's firm and not watery or anything, there's nothing to worry about I think. If you see white bits in it (specially if cat seems to be overeating), have your vet check for worms. But if there are no health issues, you are just seeing nature take its course :-)
