Your looking for the same thing i want! I also want a dog that stays small so they wont be all over the house. Tea cup chihuahuas or tea cup yorkies are the best! They get pretty expensive tho up to 3,000$!!
TEA CUP YORKIES: they are a pain to groom because they have allot of fur but when after a groom at the pet store they look really cute. You wont find short haired yorkies unfortunately. Dont listen to people when they say a dog barks too much or they are this and that. Every dog is different. Some may be quiet some may be hyper or loving and sweet or some can be mean and jealous. Tea cup yorkies are the cutest thing in the world! They stay REALLY small. Some can stay small as a loaf of bread but even smaller. Dont over feed a yorkie or any dog for that matter. No one wants a big fat puppy. YUCK. They make the best of friends and will always love you.

TEA CUP CHIHUAHUAS: These teeny pups stay REALLY small too but there are some that can be long haired or short haired. If your a bit fussy over having a scented dog smell all over your house and having to pick up dog hair all day then i suggest you get the short haired tea cup chihuahua. I personally like little dogs because i just cant stand big dogs! they tend to get really dirty and i cant stand a dirty house.

Dont let your dog make the whole house its house. Your dog needs to have boundaries of where and where not to go. Make it a little room if so just have to rest after a long walk. Just to have its own room to feel safe and do what ever it wants in it. Make sure if you clean your pup in the shower or the tub bleach it after so it wont have puppy germs all over it for your bath. Good Luck with your Future pup. Hope I helped.

Try looking up "all-about-puppies.com". They give a lot of information about choosing a dog. There are a lot of websites if you just type in the breed of the dog you are considering. The AKC website will tell you about the temperament and what to expect in appearance, etc. Good luck to you and your pup to be!

I have a maltese, she is small white, with long hair that does not shed, portable, great if you want to take her places, and easy to house train.
But keep in mind that no matter what breed you decide on it is going to take time and patience to house train, you will have a few accidents along the way.
I found taking her out to the toilet as soon as she woke up and about an hour after eating were the best as these were the most frequent times she wouold have her accidents. You will need to pay a little bit of attention to your pup as a puppy to work out when they need to go to the toilet, take them outside at these times, it creates habit and recognition of where is appropirate to go to the toilet for your puppy

Miniature Pinscher- weigh 10-12 pounds at the most and some only 8 lbs. Great breed of dog and you can get info on them at akc.com or ckc.com etc.

I would try http://www.smalldogbreedsite.com/
Most smaller dogs tend to be yappy. Housebreaking has a lot to do with the dog. You could possibly find an already housebroken small dog through the humane society.

Bichion Frise

Bichon Frise is the best dog. I used to have one and he died of cancer. Don't worry though, it was a very uncommon cancer. He was a great dog and loved to cuddle. They are lap dogs and love to be loved! He was not easy to train because he was older when we got him and we didn't put enough effort into training him, but you should. They are great dogs. Good luck on your puppy choice and I highly reccommend a bichon! -Audrina
