I have a 2 year old Shih Tzu and I have been feeding him Eukanuba since I got him, but when I took him the get groomed I was asked what kind of food I was giving him, I mentioned that I was giving him Eukanuba and the groomer said that I should think about changing him to Royal Canin because it was better for his coat. I only feed him high quality food and what I've been told is that basically its between these two brands of food that are at the top by groomers. I've checked both web sites but they don't seem to give me the info that I want, I'de rather get the imput from dog owners.

I could only give him a bath once in a long while because my cat HATES, absolutely HATES the water and the shampoo. He will scratch my arms like I am his worst enemy. I have scars on my arms, my chest, MY FACE because I tried to wash him with water and soap. WHAT could I do to avoid these dreadful scratches? How can I get him to be calm during a bath?

Check my 360°.

I think she is 5 or 6 months old. (She doesn't have all her premolars, yet.)

It is hot here in central Texas so keep in mind this is her summer coat.

And any tips for raising her (if she is a Belgian Shepherd) would be appreciated.

We have bonded strongly. She's now my baby & I am gah gah over her!

What is that stuff on the back of my cat?? I'm not sure if it really is dandruff or something worse!! It's like the skin is coming off and it's white flakes. He doesnt itch it very often, but when I washed him today with waterless foam white flakes started to fall! Does ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS??? What should I do?

I have a new Westie-Poo, her name is Ellie and she is absolutely darling. Are there any current owners of Westies, Westie-Poo's, or Poodles that can tell me anything about how big she will get or any other specific info I might want? If it helps, you can see a lot more Westie in her than Poodle, I bet I could probably convince anyone not extremely familiar with Westies that she's purebred since she has the straight hair and Westie face. Anyway, no ignorant or derogatory comments please.

Last time they gave him amoxicillin. Is there anything that I can give him at the house? Or something that I can buy from the store myself?

what do you think about people who give their pets up for adoptions for reasons such as their new apartment won't allow pets, or their dogs are misbehaving sometimes or because they will got a new job that requirees travelling? I feel angered at times coz a pet is not just something you get and then give away nor return when circumstances change.. I feel that when you adopt, you commit to give it a home forever, unless something drastically changes your circumstance and you have absolutely no choice but to give them up for their own good.. what about you? do you think it is justified or are most just looking for an easy escape from responsibility? Pet overpopulation rate and homelessness is just so high now that we cannot keep contributing to the problem..

I am planning on getting some cichlids in the near distant future. My pH in my current 30 gallon is 7.2. With the cichlids I am looking into I need a pH of 7.8-8.6. How exactly do I raise my pH?
I am looking into having some Texas Holey Rock, if I can get any, or lava rock at the lfs. My substrate will either be the eco-complete cichlid substrate or having a crushed coral substrate. Will those alone help to raise my pH or will I need to do something else?

hello again. i have a new 10 week old kitten and he is purring ever night non stop. it is only the second day i've had him and he is staying in my room (one bed apt). i havent had much sleep and last night i had to leave my room b/c of the purring and sleep on my couch n my living room. i was wonderin if that was a bad thing to do or not. should i try to stay in my room despite the purring or is it ok to leave him over night? will this effect our bonding? also if this continues for a week or more, should i try to move him into my bathroom? thanks

My cat is an indoor cat, but we let her hang out on the porch for a little bit every day. Tonight she came in with a hugely swollen ear flap (abt the size of a cherry tomato) and it's rock hard.

I looked up the symptoms online and it appears she may have an aural hematoma (blood clot). We're taking her to the vet in the morning. Anybody been through this and can give me a ball park of what it's gonna cost me? The online info says she'll prob need surgery.

He's 15 months old and does pretty good, he has plenty of toys around the house so he knows what to chew but once in a GREAT while he'll find something hes not supposed to chew. I really want to let him have a little more freedom, but i'm afraid he'll chew something up or go to the bathroom in the house and im not going to be up to correct him. What do i do?

I would like something natural or over the counter. We have one kitten that isn't weaned yet but is covered in fleas. It was the child of a few stray cats in the neighborhood. What can we do to kill them?

We're currently planning our first annual we'll call it cutest puppy contest, needs a better name.

I need contest category idea, so far I've got Cutest Puppy of course and Best Trick. I need some more.

Next we need some game ideas. One that comes to mind is obedience stations, for example at one station get your dog to sit, the next lay down, maybe throw a trick in there somewhere.

Any other ideas for this would great.

Thanks in advance.
