Really, the only thing you can do,short of taking it to the vet,is to bathe it with a mild shampoo, dry thoroughly to avoid chilling the kitten, and comb the remaining fleas out with a flea comb.Make sure to have a cup of hot, soapy water or alcohol to kill the fleas in.Keep combing everyday. If you're afraid of getting scratched, clip the kitten's claws with a human nail clipper first ( just the sharp tips) and put a towel in the bottom of the tub/sink for it to hold onto. Many kittens don't even put up a fuss when bathed, except to meow a lot!
You can also get pills called "Capstar" from your vet to give to the kitten. The pills cause all of the adult fleas to die within an hour and they are very safe.I think the kitten needs to weigh two pounds, but you could give half a tablet,my cousin is a dog groomer and does it all the time with no problems.
For the people saying to use Frontline or Advantage, the kitten is less than 12 weeks.

Advantage and Frontline are the only safe ones. All the over-the-counter ones have problems, from not even working to making a cat sick and killing a kitten.
Advantage and Frontline stay on the surface of the skin and never get into the cat's system. They're safe and effective if used as directed.
You can use them on a kitten 12 weeks old. When you buy them from a vet, ask how much you should use. Probably several drops but not the entire dose.
Fleas can cause fatal anemia in kittens, so don't delay.l

Salt water is great for fleas. If you can gently hold the kittens paws and dip him/her in luke warm salt water. Like ocean water. I used to live on the beach and it works great because the fleas do not like the salt. Hope this helps. Or you can use Dawn dish washing liquid. Just be careful not to get it in the kittens eyes.

Frontline spray is accessible out of your vets. this is the two risk-free and effectual, and may be used on kittens as youthful as 2 days old with out problems. all human beings is going to make it easier to comprehend to bathe the kitten in daybreak dish cleansing soap. do not do it! No component! Cats hate it getting moist. in addition to, dish doap will in basic terms wash the fleas off, it won't shop them away. Spot-ons from petshops could be risky even for grownup cats. Frontline spot-on is honestly risk-free for use from 8 weeks old, yet because of the fact your kitten is on the borderline age i could nevertheless use the spray version. Chalice

What I would suggest doing is using Dawn soap and a cheap 99 cent flea comb.
