Aw...he loves you and he's very happy.
He won't purr once he's asleep, so right before bedtime give him a nice tiring play session, and he'll quickly go to sleep when you go to bed and it's dark and quiet.
If you exclude him from the room he may just cry, and you'll still be kept awake, plus the kitten will be unhappy.

My cat purred all the time when I first moved her into the house( she also attacked my feet) but that's only because she was scared and I was her only protector (especially since we moved into my moms boyfriends house who has a dog that hates cats and is inside as well) and it calmed down within the week. Your new kitten just loves you and feels safe around you. I would definitely not move her into the bathroom because a)its dangerous for her (she can get into a lot because she will be scared and when that goes away she will be curious and b) she will just yowl which will keep you up worse than the purring. Good luck and I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight....

Some cats just purr more than others, but he'll probably grow out of it. Putting him in the bathroom might make him meow all the time, by far worse than purring. I'd try making him an extra cozy bed on the floor, hopefull further from your eardrums. If he seems to be seeking warmth, you can get little heated pads for kitties. Check out jefferspet.com for discounts. Is his purring really loud enough to keep you up? Wow.

The purring is his way of showing you that he is content. Are you petting him when he is in bed with you? As long as you do that, he will continue to purr. Just roll over and ignore him. He will probably go on to sleep and he will be quieter. He sounds like a happy little guy. Good luck to you.

That is the fun of having a kitten! It is just like having a baby, you can not get any sleep for the first two weeks of having it.. all they want to do is love on you and play! I bought my boyfriend a kitten a few months ago and he was having a really hard time sleeping until I bought the kitten a bed. It's a cat bed that is like a cave, so it can go into it, plus it is real soft, which it loves. You can get one at petsmart for 30 bucks.. it is worth it to get your eight hours of sleep a night back!

I love the sound of purring! You can hear mine from across the room. Just pet her for a bit, then stop, she'll fall asleep qiuckly. Meantime, you'll get used to the sound & tune it out. Example..I live beside train tracks. Woke me up several times a night. Now I don't even seem to hear them. Or the clocks that tick really loud. You get so used to it you don't pay attention after awhile.

Let the kitten sleep with you. You'll get used to the purring, and once you do, the purring will be soothing and will actually help you fall asleep. Let the kitten purr you to sleep and you'll see what I mean.

Feed it well and keep it warm in a snuggly place, like in a box with blankets.
