It depends on your personality and what kind of time you have to devote to a pet. Consider this carefully. It's a major responsibility and the pet deserves to have a happy life. Talk to someone at an animal shelter and see if they can help you determine what might be best for you. Cats are fairly independent and don't have to go outside to use the bathroom which is a bonus, but maybe something that stays in a cage all the time like a rabbit or something would be better. Just take your time and consider your needs so that you get something that will make you both happy. Best wishes!! :)

Hmm...well if you don't want a dog there are many different pets that you can look into. Well, first you can look into the kind of pet that best suits your life life style. If you don't have a lot of time to spend walking, grooming, and playing with a pet you can try a hamster, a fish, a bird, or a cat. A hamster can be takend out and played with, but they do not require constant attention. Fish need minimal care, they simply need to be fed once a day, and for their tank/bowl to be cleaned once every few days. Birds are also fairly easy they require daily feeding, and weekly cage cleaning. Depending on the kind you get they ccan be taken out and played with, but some are not that tame. Cats are a lot of fun, they are playful but require a little more attention then the others. With cats they need attention, but are not as time consuming as dogs. They need to be fed daily, and their litter boxes to be cleaned fairly often. I hope this helped bye!!!):

Rats are the smallest, smartest, cleanest creature that you can buy. They're gaining in popularity as the "EWW A RAT" stigma fades. Want the personality of a cat or a dog? Try a rat... they're the most wonderful little walking beanbags and they want nothing more than to love on you.
Diseases? Biting? Evil? Eww? Hardly. This is what rat owners enjoy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-4tHbAY3qj8

She follows me around the house!

How about a Chinchilla? They are easy to care for and really no problem at all ! They don't even get fleas!! And no smell if you only have one and clean the cage once a week but i have went alittle longer like week and half!! They need an exrcise wheel a big one if you don't take them out for exercise! which i don't recommend cause they can get away and hide really really good!!! hard to find them if they get away from you!! If you like look them up online and read about them then you;ll know more about them!

it depends on what you plan to do with this pet. if you want something to play with, how about a cat, there so much fun and good cuddlers. if you don't want something playful, just something really, then maybe a fish. also,if you get a actual animal,i would adopt one. there are so many GREAT animals in a shelter looking for love, especially cats.

It depends...do you want to play with the animal a lot or do you just want something to take of with little interaction?
If you want to play with it, I would suggest a cat or rabbit.
If you do not want to play with it, I would suggest a fish or bird.

Get a cat from humane society. Don't be so vain that you go buy one. You only contribute to animal suffering. Go adopt one.
