I recently took in a cat someone was giving away. He told me the cat was sweet, never hissed or bit him and was really laid back.

The cat is the opposite. He will rub on my leg and purr and when I bend down to pet him, he will hiss and has scratched me a number of times. I have emailed the man who gave me the cat and he isn't responding, so from that I assume this is why he gave it away. I don't know what to do. I cannot keep him, when I lay down to go to bed he will jump up beside me an hiss, it's quite scary. I am an animal lover to the max but I can't deal with this cat anymore, he is only 1yr old. I've been tempted to put him outside (he is an indoor cat and has his claws still) But at the same time I would feel guilty for doing that. Anyone have any suggestions?

These are the definition in the dictionary so why do people get angry over the use of these words and why do the BYB that breed mutts get angry when you point it out? Even if they are using two pure bred dogs to create the mutts, the pups they produce are in fact MUTTS. So with all the mutts dying in shelters why deliberately create more?

Like I asked earlier, would it be ok to put 2 angelfish in a 2.5 gallon tank? What i did not include was that they would be in the tank temporarily. Just until they begin to grow.

She looks like a dalmatian puppy. But I am sure she is a full grown dog. I took her the the humane society to get scanned for a micro chip. She had none. So I took her back home and now im making a found poster. The problem is I have no ideal what kind of dog she is. What should I put on the poster? She is in good health. I don't even think she has fleas. None that I could see anyway. She has a collar but no tags. I know she has to have a loving home somewhere, very sweet dog.

i have tried several different ways to do this, as my cat decided to pee on my carpet and it went to the floor boards underneath.i have taken the carpet up as i wanted to get rid of it anyway and i want to put laminate down and dont want her to pee on it when i get it. i have now put a piece of plastic there and it has discouraged her for now. but i dont want it there forever as it looks daft as where it is i cant disguise it. ccan anyone suggest anything to put /spray wipe there when i take it up ? i have tried 'pet behave spray' but only works half the time. cheers guys. x

A guy in one of my classes brought his pet goldfish to schoool one day...(highschool) I was on the internet, and i wasnt paying much attention to it or where it was in....then i turned around and i'm like OMG ISNT YOUR FISH GONNA DROWN?? They all looked at me like they didnt know wat i was talking about...and i repeated it...they all started laughing then i realized what i said....but can you understand why i would sday that...he had it in a jar with like no holes...he was gonna run out of oxygen..so my reaction was fish+water=drown...no? I still hear people talk about it...

I have five outdoor dogs. Jimmy & Timmy, two German Sheps., and DJ my Choco Lab.. And then Scout, my Dal. Plus Molly, my Golden Retreiver. Now, Usually Jimmy & Timmy hang out by themselves.. And DJ and Scout n their own. And Molly, usually hangs with the kitties.. So usually no one gets in no ones way! So, y is DJ bugging Molly now? DJ is pushing her, and barking at her.. And she's growling. And Molly just shrinks away, even tho she's like double her size.. I wish she would realize, she's bigger than her.. BUt she just gets scared 'cuz she's pushy.. So I donno what to do!!
Am I spose'd to discipline Deej? But she'll never listen. She's a li'l rebelious.. and she'll just jump around me, taunting me, barking wildly. The ages are,

Jimmy: 2 yrs
Timmy: 2 yrs
Molly: 7 yrs
DJ: 9 months
Scout: 1 yr tomorrow

he has had this before about 3 weeks ago. we had to bring him in and have a catheter stuck up him and unfortunatly we cant afford to have the opperation again. the vet told us that if we kept him on wet food it was less likely to happen so all i have been feeding him is wet food. I dont know what to do. we love this cat so much and dont want to put him down. Is there any type of home remedy that we can cure him.? It is also labor day weekend so all the local vet places are closed. so i cant ask them what to do.

we recently introduced wet food to my 5 mnth old kitty, he loves it. But when we put dry food in his bowl, he will eat only a little na dthen at the end of the day if he does not have any wet food he will flip his bowl over water and food in it, well all over the floor now. Is he really that spiteful, It's cute right now but im going to get tired of it. What to do??

My male is clam and submissive with a few barks at strangers and strange sounds, normal to my standards of the breed (maltese). My female is a known biter, garbage dweller, over eater and a down right aggressive girl. Will her pups be that way or could the pups be a mix of both personality.

ive got 3ft aquarium which now has 2 angels,1 plec,9 tiger barbs,1 silver shark, and couple of pearl danios in. got my temp at 26c now. im stryggling with the ph it was 5. i went to buy my fav fish the pictus catfish when the man informed me that it and the rest of my fish will die very soon as my ph is 5 and that my filter has stoped working to. he told me to add 1 teaspoon of bi carbonate of soda for every 1 gallon and recheck. it states 5.5-6now. what do i do add it again till it reaches 7 or what? please help as i really want to go back and get the pictus it was sooooo nice!!

my dad wants me to let my cat go outside to go to the bathroom,but im afraid my cat will run away or get fleas.we live out in he country with a few other houses ,and the fles and ants out here are really bad.the last cat I had is still alive,but lives outside.hes an outdoor cat cuz he wanted to be,and cuz i was bad about his litterbox.but that was a long time ago and im responsible now.i want my dad to let him have a litterbox,so how do i convince him?

I have a 4 month old Lab, Mastiff mix and we went to the beach yesterday. Afterwards I sprayed him down with the hose and he still smells like sea water. I want to give him a bath, however I already gave him one only two weeks ago and I dont want to dry out his coat. If I give him a bath right now will it be okay just this once?

Ok a couple months ago my dog died and i am heartbroken. my life revolved around my little girl. Now i'm really considering getting another dog. i work at an animal shelter and one time this gorgeous long haired german shepherd came into the shelter and i just adored him. So that is the kind of dog i'm wanting to get. the thing is i've never seen one come to the shelter again so i was wondering if anyone knows of where i can find one i've looked at the rescues and i haven't seen the "one" yet. the shepherd that that i was talking about earlier was named Schatten (german for Shadow) and he was a gorgeous Rust And black color and had really long hair and beautiful eyes and best of all a wonderful personality. thanks for your help
