from a family yesterday, he is 3 months old and he looks around the house and cries, I think he is looking for his mom and siblings and that other family, how can I help him feel comfortable here?

I do have 2 other cats, 1 is about 7 months and the other is about 1 1/2 years, they don't like him yet though so he can't snuggle up with them.

I've gone through this in the past. There is no quick-fix. What he needs is attention, love, and try to bond with him through physical contact (holding him, playing, petting the little guy). Make sure he has a nice, comfortable place to hang out in/sleep in so he feels secure. I've put small stuffed animals in with kittens too, and sometimes that works. I've seen them cuddle up to it when they sleep - for security. Kittens, if coming from a litter, are used to curling up together for warmth and comfort. He might be lonely too...this is a big change from what he's known the first 3mos of his life! Be patient. Again, the more attention and love you give him, the faster he will feel better. Good Luck!!!

Play with him A LOT, get him lots of kitten toys, give him lots of affection, get him some kitty milk from a pet store or in the grocery stores pet food section. Go back and get another kitten from the litter. He's lonely.Cats aren't a lot of trouble and 2 would be fun to have, especially when they play. I always think its a good idea for people to adopt at least 2 animals if they don't have any others to help keep the new one company. Good Luck and enjoy the kitty (or two...hint...hint...wink) :-)

You can't help him adjust. He will need time. He may be crying for something more practical though. Keep him playing and watch his food and litter. I've had many cats, and I know from experience that some cats are vocal for no reason. Most kittens need movement and action to be happy though; so if you lead a fastidious lifestyle you will need to make time for him to make messes, climb things, attack inanimate objects, and wage war with your feet while you sleep. It will help him adjust to feel as though he isn't the only living thing in the house.

Hi
He will get over that but you can get some toys and a cat scratching post and give him lots of love and get a toy that is interactive. Kitty treats are ok too. Maybe a realistic stuffed animal may give him comfort when he sleeps.
I know with dogs you can put a wind up clock in a towel and put it in there bed. It reminds them of another heart beat and can be comforting. I don't know if your cat sleeps in a bed or in a particular place, but that may help.
Cats are social creatures and will often do better with a friend, but they do well alone too.
Hope that helps

That's exactly what he is doing. He is in a strange territory, but relax. He will soon know this is his home. Meanwhile, allow him to investigate. Try not to hold him too much at first because he needs to take in all scents first to become truly comfortable. Entertain him with some toys. They don't have to be expensive. A piece of string is fun. Most kittens like hiding inside a brown grocery sack.

Give him a lot of attention, and time. Make sure he has toys, and cool beds to lay in. My vet also recommends a healthy natural product called Rescue Remedy, whcih you put drops into the water, to help cats calm down in situations like this. It is inexpensive at places like hi health or whole foods, and will make a big difference. good luck!

You could spend alot of time with your new kitten ,or you (if possible)get another kitten or, one of that kittens litter mates. My 11 month old kitten used to do that to ,but then I threw her favorite toy (ponytail)across the room, she quit crying.

The kitten will get used to it. Just pet it and treat it nicely. Talk to it in a soft tone to calm it down.
