I have a friend who named her black cat Halloween and she called him Hallo. Pretty cool huh?! Also you could call him Pitch, although some may think you're saying something else, so maybe not, ummmm Try names from Greek mythology, consider Ebony or (Ebon), Or maybe (Black) Jasper or Onyx (both semi precious stones) My brother named his black dog Shade because he thought shadow was over used. You could also choose your favorite dark character from TV or a movie?! Good Luck, I'm sure whatever you choose will be just right. Don't hurry, just watch him for a few days, he'll let you know what his name is. Hope this helps! =)

I had a female named Mau merely on the grounds it is the sound she made - little did i are conscious of it grew to become into the Egyption be conscious for "cat" the place they have been worshipped as Gods. additionally had a Gizmo, a Paisley, an Abbie, and now a Shina. i admire the call Mika (suggested meeka) for a female cat - skill pal in Italian. yet another unusual call could be Niji (nee-gee) it is the Ojibwe be conscious for pal.

I don't have any suggestions other than to name it quickly. Otherwise, you will end up with a cat named "Kitty" like we did. We took our time deciding on a name and took way too much time. She never did and never has responded to anything but "Kitty" or "Kitty Cat." But, our other cat, Townee, was smart enough to know when we said "Kitty," we meant the other cat, not her.

make sure that the cats name will be reinforced after its official
the worst thing is an identity confused cat
make sure that the name will be able to be said easily
not to long
make sure when you call it that you can say it a bunch of times without sounding stupid
for example
WRONG: "here Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany Tiffany!" when calling a cat
recomendation for a name - Shadow
RIGHT: " here Shadow Shadow Shadow"

I like mystery or sabbath for a black cat. Could be licorice, coal, lucky, or blackjack also.
