I have a pit bull that I love more than anything. If he killed another dog and was aggressive toward people, I'm afraid I would make the decision to have him put down.
Your dog sounds like the result of very poor breeding. Pit bulls are not supposed to be innately aggressive toward humans. If they are, something is wrong up there and you can't predict what she might do. :( I'm so sorry.

When the quality of life is no longer there euthanizing the pet is the kind thing to do. In your case it is a little harder to decide because the dog is still nice to you. If she is a threat to other people, and it sounds like she is, I would have her euthanized before she goes and hurts or kills another person, especially a child, or another animal. The only other option you have is keeping her locked up all the time. This is no life for a dog and there may come a day when she will even turn on you.

If you can be very responsible and not let her have access to anybody, she could be spared. But it will be very life consuming on your part, constantly being concerned that someone doesn't let her out around others, or that someone is let into the home with out her being confined.
I've been thru it, but with a shepherd. He was the best dog I ever had, except for his aggression. He was very protective. I had to confine him if anyone was over. Worried about the kids letting someone in without confining him. Worried that he'd get out the door with them when they had friends waiting for them. He only obeyed me in these situations. Luckily my kids understood how urgent these measures be taken, they loved him and knew he would be destroyed if they didn't follow my precautions. He did bite one person, fortunately it was a shepherd lover too, who had to re-home her dog because of it's aggression. No daytime walks, they were done late at night so we did not have to confront anyone. Car rides that he loved didn't end at the woods or a park, just to the local convenient store for a treat. That was the hard part not being able to take him with me everywhere, like I intended. But we spent lots of time playing in the backyard chasing balls and squirrels up the trees. He did give us many years of love and protection till cancer ended his life.
The pitbull's reputation makes this a bit more urgent, they don't need anymore negative publicity. They are great dogs, please don't let her become a statistic. There are a great many rescues specific to her breed, contact your local rescue maybe they can offer some helpful advise. If you keep her, which I did when I was in your shoes, keep her away from everybody except for those she loves, she'll keep them safe at all costs. Good Luck

I would suggest yes if she is a threat to people and other animals UNLESS you can guarantee she is always kept inside. Keep in mind you could be sued. I am a dog lover by all means, but if I had a dog like that... i would euthanize. Obviously the dog has had a bad life or poor breeding, pitbulls have it in their blood to attack. This is what they were orignally bred for.

I would say you do not have to euthanize your pit. Any dog can be trained to be aggressive or they can be as sweet as can be. I would say with a little training from you or your girlfriend can train her. I think just a little work will do wonders for an aggressive animal. Good luck

If she's aggressive like that, then she shouldn't have a ''mate'' in the first place. Dogs that are naturally agressive like that, to the point of killing another dog, should not be bred to pass down more hereditary agressiveness.
Yes.
I'm sorry, but it would be good for you to straight-up, flat-out, put her down. I'm sorry.
And, advice: if you insist on getting another pit-bull after this one, make sure it's ancestors have no obvious aggression or snappy tendencies towards other children/dogs BEFORE you adopt it.

If she killed another dog and charges at people, then I'm afraid that you would be wise to have her put down. The alternatives are to have her spayed, have her canine teeth ( fangs) removed and have her muzzled at all times when other people or animals are present. There are also drugs that may help,as well as very rigorous training and a lot of exercise, but this would entail a lot of time and expense and none of it may help. There is also liability to consider.Do you have insurance? If you choose to have her put down, take her for a long walk, give her a lot of goodies, and sit with her while the injection is given,so that she can hear one last "good dog," from you.I'm sorry for your troubles.

You need to think for a second:
She is hurting other animals and people. That is NO way for a dog to be. If you tell the animal control, I am sure that they will euthanize her. She should not be around people or other animals. If you can leave in your apartment all day and never let her outside then she would be fine. But no dog deserves that kind of life. Would that really be whats best for her?
Talk to your vet about this problem. She will tell you exactly what to do with your dog. I am sorry to say, she will most likely say to euthanize her. You should think about what is best for other dogs and people. I hope that I helped. -Audrina

I have a 9 month old Pit Bull, and as much as I love him, if he was to start showing any signs of aggression, I would definitely have him put down. It would break my heart to do it, but I would rather do that then to take the chance of him hurting someone else or someone elses pet. It he as already attacked one dog, she will attack again. Sorry and Good LUCK!!

You cannot allow the dog to be athreat to other people. After all , although we love them, it is still not a people. Supposed the dog injured or killed a child. What then. Responsible dog ownership means doing the right thing fotr the dog AND for the world the dog encounters. It takes courage to reckognize such a bad and dangerous situation, and to be able to do the hard thing.
