My little neighbour found a hurt robin in her backyard one day ago and is trying to nurse him/her back to health. Her dog got the baby. The live one drinks water but has not eaten since yesterday. She sits quietly, not moving. My little friend is doing all she can. Any tips? She cannot go to the vet.

I have an 8 week old shiba inu puppy that I am crate training. I have a blanket over the sides to make it like a cozy den. The radio plays as well. After 2 hours of playing, walking, and potty time, she is tired and ready for a nap. I am trying to get her on a schedule so she becomes slowly introduced to me being away when I start school in a month. However, every time that I leave the room she screams and howls! I have tried to put chew toys in there and a kong, but they don't help. She ignores them. The kong definately does not keep her occupied, she abandons it after biting the top off the cookie. I have not given in and let her out, and I tried to bang sharply on the top and reward her for being quiet. I tried staying inside so she could hear me and be comforted, and I tried to leave and see if she settled down (she was still crying when I came back in an hour). I have problems ignoring it because of the neighbors. She only sleeps when I sit down next to her. What else can I do?

We had a dog for over 20 years. She was with us before my son was born and my son is now in college. She is a 25-lbs cocker spaniel. She is old, not eating well, not walking well since the day she had something like a "heart attack". I don't know why the pet place refused to bath and groom her. She does not bark, bite or fuss. She is just old.

The vet said it's time to put her to sleep. We had a lot of good time together and we just do not have the courage to take her to the vet for the last time.

What should we do? If we should let her go, what is the best way to say good-bye? We have young family kids and we don't want them to think we "kill" our dog.

Have anyone done this before? Can you please share your experience? Thank you.

I recently took in a male pug from a woman who picked it up as a stray. I thought a companion would be good for my female pug. He has almost completely taken over the house and growls at my dog when she tries to be his buddy and a bit while they or we eat. My dog has always been great being home alone while I'm at work...but not the new dog, he does terribly!!! He follows me everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE constantly. And yes I do understand that I'm his owner and he's being loyal, but he pushes my female out of the way. The woman said that if it doesn't work, I can bring him back. What do I do???? Do dogs need to have other doggie companions or are owners just as good??

P.S. I have always been very good to my original dog and show her lots of love, play and attention.

And pics are the best way to help identify, though it is not always possible. A thorough description and location would give more thorough answers, but pics would give accurate answers.

...and I no longer know what to do! He is 10 years old and I had him neutered when he was just a kitten. Everything was fine for years until one night he escaped outside. I could not find him until early the next morning and within days he began spraying the walls, the furniture and mostly my daugters bed!! I had him checked by the vet and he was fine, so the vet suggested a bigger litter box. Went and bought a bigger litter box and it did not help. We went and bought a bottle of odor-remover that was supposed to clean up the mess and neutralize the smell. Nothing. Right now he lives outside in a little cathouse we made him and though he seems fine, it has been suggested that we will never break the cat of this habit and it would be humane to have him put down. Suggestions?

We adopted a stray kitten into our home about a two weeks ago. He adjusted very well with our other cats and started playing and acting like every other kitten I've seen. Two days ago, I noticed that he seemed kind of lazy and wasn't eating very much. Last night, he was very lethargic. He ate only a few bites of food, and I dribbled some water in his mouth (that perked him up just a little, so I'm sure he's somewhat dehydrated at least). I have not noticed any diarrhea and he has not been vomitting. He just won't run around or play like he had been earlier this week, but he does like for me to hold him. Do I need to take him to the vet?

I have had my cat for 4 years since he was a kitten. He is an indoor cat. He is badly trained as we always treated him like a baby. he pees on the carpets, in the bathtub poops in the bath and on the bathroom floor. His fur gets everywhere and i woory about the health of my baby. My baby is now three months old and is very demanding but not as demanding as my cat. I take my fustrations out on the cat and shout at him all the time. his behaviour just gets worse and he seems so miserable too. Do i get rid of him he might be happier?

My cat is 1 year and a half years old! She had all her vaccines and rabbies shot when I adopted her at 6 months of age plus she was spayed! Every time I used to take her to the vet, she got really stressed and caught an URI really bad! Now she is due for her yearly vaccine, but I know she will get stressed again and get another URI. She is an indoor cat, never goes out and she's never sick now and I don't want her to be! I heard that indoor cats don't really need yearly vaccines. I have two older cats and they never have their yearly vaccines and they've never been sick! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

for the past 2 years, my cat has been carrying socks, or anything small like socks around the house, in her mouth, yelping the same way that most cats do when they are in heat.

she will start out in the back of the house, and work her way, meowing the entire time, untill she sees people, and they respond to her.

i was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them, or if they know what could be causing it. she is 17 years old, and loved very much, i'm not sure if she is just craving attention or what...

thanks in advance!

My son and I got a little purebred chihuahua given to us. She is a fantastic little dog.. I have really benefitted from having her. We have some allergies tho but Ive got a really good vacuuum and now Im getting a carpet shampooer. She is a lot of responsibiloty tho she has to go out 3 times a day and 3 days a week she has to sit in the bathroom. I love taking her to my sons hockey games and stuff tho. I put an add out and some people are begging for her. A disable lady, a senior citizen who is home all the time and had a chi before and a christian family. Who is better out of all of us?
