How many gallons does one need? I've read at petsmart that they only need 30 gallons and then I read on liveaquaria.com that they need a minimum of 70 gallons! Which one should I trust. I know the rule "1 gallon for every inch of fish", but that's just thrown out there all the time and its not a very good rule to use unless talking about small fish. You wouldn't put a 10 inch fish in a 10 gallon tank now would you?? Thanks to all that answer!

Currently i have a Ball Python, a pair of Leopard Geckos, and a Bearded Dragon. Seeing as how reptiles are going to be my future, i am looking to get a lizard that gets quite big, since i've already gotten a snake that will eventually be 5-6 feet long.

I have heard that iguanas can rip furniture to shreds with their claws, but if i keep them trimmed will it still happen? I also hear they do get quite messy, but im fine with cleaning up after them.

I havent heard much about chinese water dragons, but they look like really fun pets, and get almost as big as the iguanas. I plan to have a cage in the corner with proper lighting and maybe a couple things to climb on but mainly the iguana or water dragon will roam around in my room, or stay in an area for it in my room somewhere.

So mainly it comes down to what would be more expensive in the long run, what would be better in the long run, and how needy each of these are.

I made her a website on dogster http://www.dogster.com/dogs/583443 , it has some info on her that might help you to figure it out. The humane society told us what kind of mix they thought and so did a vet tech, but I don't know.... So I just wanted to get your opinions. She has a really long body, little skinny legs, and a fluffy tail that curls to her back. Oh and she has a long hair on the back of her rear legs. She seems to have pretty hairy feet like they need to be trimmed or something. Ask for any details that you need.

She is 2 years old and does this behavior both inside and out. There isn't anything on the ground/floor that she is going after, just the ground/floor. She will get into a trance, sniff, hunch back, and then pounce. She has ripped carpeting and will pull up grass outside. We got her from the pound in April. Other than this behavior, she is loving and very cuddly.

So i have a 16 week old bengal who has the runny poops, she's had them since the day i brought her home.
she was been on albon and electrolytes when i got her and now i've even switched her food from wellness because i was told it could be too rich for her. (and yes.. the proper way)
Right now i have her on metronidazole in case it's inflamed bowels... she needs to be on it for 10 days, it's been five so far.. and no change.

someone told me to check her for enteric pathogens.. does anyone know what that is? i've never heard of it before. the person said since she's a purebred she may have this problem forever. i've had her tested for parasites and what not.. all came back negative but still no luck in curing the poops.
she's drinking lots, eating lots and gaining weight, and is perfectly normal... besides the poops and i'm out of ideas!!

i am gonna probably breed ferrets, but i dont have the money to spay/neuter and descent the babies before selling them! what should i do? should i sell the babies to a breeder? then i would have money to neuter the next litter.
or should i put them up for sale when they are really young, so the person who wants to buy one pay then i could neuter and descent it, then give it to them (ofcourse when its older!) ??!?!?!? what should i do?
(first of all, i dont the price of neutering and descenting baby ferrets)

i bought tetra that were carrying a disease and gave it 2 my betta & now he has fin & body rot the odd thing is it happened in 1 day starting @ the base of his Dorsal fin & moving directly onto his body the scales around his dorsal fin r now gone ive been treating him with Maracyn 1 & 2, Jungle Fungus clear, stress coat & cloraphil so that way it would b easier 4 him 2 breath & less stressfull on his gills. his dorsal fin is almost completely gone except 4 the back part which is black now & the area around it seems a bit swollen. he also has a fungal infection, including a small patch on his mouth that seems 2 b going away. ive been treating him for 2 days now and hes taken 2 swimming again, but he hasnt eaten in 4 days and refuses 2. i dont want 2 loose him, but despite my efforts the area around his dorsal seems 2 b getting bigger, & rotting away more. what can i do? will he live? will his scales and dorsal fin grow back? how long will it b b4 he gets better? & how can i get him 2 ea

so...what makes a person a cat hoarder?

There's this situation, where there's a small, extremely young kitten that was basically dropped off at my grandma's house which is being sold and vacant at the time. It's definately not being taken care of the way it should be beings the thing is so young. What should I do? I have an older cat who stays at my house and two other cats (one being a 10 wk old kitten) who lives at my boyfriends house. I really want to help bc I am a HUGE sucker for kittens. I do work at a vet clinic as a vet tech so I'm pretty sure I can care for the thing correctly. I know if I go pick it up that I'm going to fall in love with it, but I just wanna help. ANd I do know that I always have the possibility to take it to a no kill shelter or adoption agency, but I just hate doing that.

Answers....a little advice...suggestions...I'm open for just about anything right now.

I was petting her and felt a bump on her shoulder and then one on her ear... I just found another one towards her belly so I went into the light and spread open the fur to see what is goin on. She has all this crust built up in these spots... it almost looks like they are scabs/scars but I can't really tell... she also seems a itchier than usual. What are these scabs/extra skin/bumps???? Please help...

I took my dog biking yesterday night like I always do. I went to a big parking lot because I wanted to let her off leash. Some how she has ripped (scraped) her back paws. She's not limbing but she is licking them alot. I have cleaned them up. I will bring her to the vet tomorrow but is this a big problem? Will they heal on thre own? I never had this happen before.

A Friend gave me one of her hen's eggs this morning... She's a rookie at hatching and I'm no better. I don't have the money to buy an expensive incubator, but I was wondering if I used a high heat heating pad for the warmth and maybe a small fan for ventilation, plus a couple other things if it doesn't make it to 100 degrees F. I need suggestions!!! I Really want to make this work for the both of us. Are plain heating lamps okay??

Help! Thank You.

i am going to get a snake, ive done minimal research on each species and i am taking the entire day tommorow to do excessive research on the species i choose... i have a good sized tank , quite long, 50 gal. im not sure about the measurements, but it is ample room for a common kingsnake to live comfortably. now, im debating between species, at the moment i am completley in love with kingsnakes, rainbow boas and ball pythons, which one would you choose? (any reasons for your choice?) and do you have any other suggestions?
