Taming wild animals always takes a great deal of patience. You may find some help on these websites, including a message board for degu owners.

One thing to check - local regulations on keeping wild animals as pets. Many countries do not allow wild-caught native animals to be kept as pets. If they were bred in captivity, it would be different.

Good luck with them.

Not to seem picky, but if you rescued the squirrels, isn't the idea of taming them just a little selfish? What were they rescued from? Do the squirrels owe you their freedom because you rescued them? Do they now belong to you and not to the world they're supposed to live in? Are they babies that have no parents? Or are they already grown?

Think about it.
