Long story short: A guy that works with my mom bought one of the puppies my dog had a year ago. He called a few months back to ask about dog sitting for a week over the 4th of July. My husband said no problem.

Well in the mean time, I totally forgot. Ended up getting a bulging disc in my neck and now I am set for surgery this Friday. When I found out about surgery it was too late to cancel.

I thought for sure it was going to be an easy task..boy was I wrong. She has only been here for a day, and she has peed and pooped ALL over my house. Gives us no sign of needing to go out..btw we have a doggie door and a medium sized fenced in yard. She knows about the doggie door too, cause she followed the other three outside.

If you look at her or try to sit on the floor to play she pees all over. Big time submissive pee'er. I think she is nervous too.

How much should I charge for the 8.5 days they will be gone? He said whatever I wanted to charge was fine with them.

Voluntarily. Scaring them doesn't count.

My Yorkie (age 14) started to seem a bit unwell (tired, not eating much, losing weight) for a couple of days. He seemed to be a bit better and then went ill again. He was up and down for a couple of days so I thought it was just something that would pass. I knew he really wasn't himself and took him to the vets. On that day, I had to take him on 2 buses (where he was being sick) and carry him a couple of miles to get there as he refused to walk. He was put on a drip and the next day I phoned and was told that he was very ill and close to collapse due to kidney failure. I went in that day and had him put to sleep. I held him and told him how much I loved him and what a good boy he was. I love him and miss him so much. If I would have gone to the vets a few days earlier when he first seemed to be ill, would they have been able to do anything to save him? If I knew he was so ill I would have gone sooner. Please be honest - I would rather know the truth. Did I leave it too late?

I've got two 7 week old ferret kits. 'Hummer' is sweet and will happily sit in my hand but 'Diesel' bites me. He dosen't attempt to bite me when I pick him up but when he's in my hand he bites my fingers. He has started to draw blood. It's not just a nip, he hangs on.. I have tried to tap him on his nose and scruff his neck while saying "NO" but this just makes him worse. Will bitter spray stop him.? I know they do grow out of it but I'd rather he grew out of it sooner rather than later. I know he's going to be a challenge, he's just got that cheeky look in his eyes.. Any advice would be great.

NO STUPID ANSWERS PLEASE. If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all..

are pellets a MORE COMPLETE or EASY way to provide complete nutrition? I have a friend who feeds her cockatiel named Stormy Beak Apitete and Veggie Heaven(by beak apitete a veggie based cooking diet), Wheat Grass, Kaytee Fiesta, scrambled egg, and chicken on occasion. She always gets positive feedback from her vet about stormy after every checkup. Is it possible to take pellets place by feeding an extensive variety of vitamin rich foods?

He's been throwing up for about three days, not really eating. When should we take him in? The kids and husband have been sick as well, could he have a stomach bug as well?

we really need to get our female jack russell terrier spayed...she's not fun while "in season". My male JRT (he's already neutered) is going crazy too. She's a real "b*tch"...we know why they call us girlies that now :) How long is the recovery when we do get her spayed?

I was planning to buy a crate and also a fence/play pen around the crate, leave food and water along with some toys for him, either in the garage or in my side yard(fenced with shade)
My friends lab left like this started to eat his poop and amuse himself, i don't want to give him a chance to pick up bad habits.

I have a problem with my Ryukin (fancy goldfish) which I have had for over 18 months now & has always been healthy.
He has recently become quite bloated & appears to be gasping for air. He also has a long stringy thing hanging out of his anus. It is not like his usual excretia as it is sort of transparent with white bits in it.
Has anyone got any idea what the problem might be?

My niece is 6 and wants a bird. I was wanting any suggestions about what is the best bird to get as a first pet bird. I was thinking about a parakeet because I had them when I was younger and enjoyed them. This bird(s) will be kept at her grandparents so she can enjoy it on her weekend visits. Is it better to get 2 birds so they can keep each other company or will 1 be ok by itself?
