Best advice is to take the puppy to see a vet.
That way they can diagnose which type of worm, and give the proper treatment.

If there is a home remedy, that is safe- I would like to know about it as well.

I looked at the book, best thing is to take it to the vet, but before you do that to kill some is to give the puppy a warm bath. Don't apply soap just let him or her play in the water. It's says some worms hate heat.

No, but dewormers from the pet store are over the counter and not too expensive. Be sure to use pyrantel pamoate for hooks and rounds, and praziquantel for tapeworms. Your puppy should have a vet visit anyway for a check up, fecal check for different parasites, start on heartworm prevention, and first vaccines. Your vet can give you all this info.

Not really and if you try it could make the puppy very sick. What type of worms? If you don't know, Ask again and describe them. There is over the counter med's that usually don't cost to much that could get rid of them.

No you have no way of knowing what kind of worms your dog has ,how many, how long he's had them, what damage they have or are doing. You must take your dog to the vet for the proper Diagnosis and medication. While you are there it would be good if you checked on Immunization and rabies shots.

No it does not. It just kills the fleas that are the primary transmitters of tape worms. Your cats just haven't been shedding worm segments lately. Now that the fleas are gone they need to be wormed to get rid of the worms as well

There might be something over the counter, but it is best to go to the Vet to get rid of all possible parasites.

No, but get a dewormer from the vet. It doesn't cost much and it works. You can also try online like Petmeds.com or drfosterandsmith.com
