This question reminds of the joke about how high can a flea jump. In an experiment they take off a fleas legs one by one. They say flea jump, and the flea jumps.
This is from comedian Justin Wilson if you've ever heard of him. I think he's from New Orleans and dead now.
Anyway they pull off all the fleas legs and say flea jump. It just sits there. They realize from this experiment that when you take all the legs off the flea, He can no longer hear!
Think it might be the same with lobsters????

I doubt whether they can. Think of how lobsters are cooked, they are live when put into the boiling water. If they could jump, don't you'd think they'd immediately jump out of the pot.

Dave is correct, it is impossible for them to jump due to their build. They are great crawlers though. Just a thought.........................Why would a lobster want to jump at the bottom of the ocean?????? Sheeeeeeeeesh.
