don't panic. she should have made her bed over the last week or so. i have 5 cats 3 of which are females. we have had 3 litters this year. one being born on Saturday just gone. she did it on her own. but normally I'm there in the room just to keep my eye on them. she should let you know when she is ready. she may cry at you. i find if she wants you near to her she may enjoy you stroking her belly.maybe it eases the labour. mine love it. this is their last litter. two have already been spayed soon after kittens left. have a lovely time with your kittens. i always miss them when they've gone to new homes.hope this helps you.remember DONT PANIC.

Follow what your vet said. Should she start showing signs of distress or passing fluid stained black or green you need to get her to a vet right away for a c-section. Right now as your vet said their seems to be no cause for alarm.

I myself had labours going from 45 minutes to 32 hours. Just like us it's different every time for a cat.

I would make sure someone is with her at all times now until she has delivered. That may well mean someone not sleeping tonight so that person should try and catch a little sleep now while someone else watches over the little mother.

Good luck to you and your kitty. I'll be sending a prayer for you both

Her water broke she shold be okay but and labour should start soon do you have a closet with a little box in it where you can keep an eye on her but she has the nesting feeling where she will want to have her litter. I've helped my cat with three litters and she trusted me enough that I could even help her so she wouldn't sit on any kittens she should have them abou one half an hour apart, sometimes quicker but usually by the time they have cleaned the sac and taken care of the cord the next one is ready. I'ms so excited for you. I loved it and what ever you do don't act nervous she will pick it up and it could cause her to slow down labour so relax set up a nice peaceful nesting box iwth some clothing and paper towel she can rip up, that to will calm her and it's natural for them to do this. Good luck please let me know how it's going Pearl

get advice from a vet RIGHT NOW I know that dogs get a discharge, and that this is normal. what I didn't know was how long the labour took. Holly my jack russell also fell asleep, when nothing happened for some time. I took her to the vet. the vet give her an injection to bring on labour, she told me that the pup was stuck in the birth canal, and was dead. After several hours Holly had to have a caesarean. Unfortunatly both her pups were dead. I often wonder if the caesarean was preformed immediately, would the second pup lived....

Some cats labour lasts for a while. If you are really worried give the vet a call and check with them.
When my cat went into labour we thought she had wee'd as she passed alot of clear fluid at first then leaked little bits for the rest of the day, we kept the house quiet but she was restless and then she went into full labour in the middle of the night as she came and bit me until i got up and then she settled and had her kittens!!
All labours are different but it does seem to be taking while and think i would have given my ve a call just to check.

Hoping everything is ok.

Don't panic !! It sounds like amniotic fluid from first kitten. If nothing happens within a few hours of this, then call the vet. If she is sleeping just leave her, she will have her kittens tonight and in her own time. It is very rare for cats to have probs giving birth unless they are pedigree cats who tend to be very 'precious' at all times. I am assuming from your description that this has possibly been sired by Mr Alleycat, in which case just chill and go to bed. You may get a nice surprise whe you get up in the morning. She'll be fine, chill and god luck.

Since the fluid is clear and she is sleeping, this sounds normal (they break water before each kitten is born). If she is in active labor, pushing hard, for more than an hour then it could be trouble. You can watch and see or have a vet check if you're worried.

Her waters have broken and labour should be progressing, like the vet said if it hasn't progressed by morning take her in and let them intervene for the best of the cat's health and the kittens.

Let us know how it goes, and hope everything goes fine.

My cat started labour at 9.30 pm and did not have her kittens until 3.30pm the following day. Keep an eye on her, any signs of distress then give the vet another call.

I would give her some time. Wait and see. If she goes until morning with no kittens, I would go to the vet. I hope all works out and hope she is fine.
