Our Miniature Dachshund has been sneezing a lot over the last few days. She also has a higher than normal level of nasal discharge from her nose. Apart from that she is bright and lively. Might this be an allergy or does she have a cold? Any suggestions and potential remedies woud be appreciated.

When I adopted my nine year old Rottweiler (Belle) in January of this year, she was perfectly fine being around other dogs, but slowly over the months she has become dog aggresive. The only dog she will except is my Chihuahua/Beagle mix. Why is this, and how can I change it?

I volunteer at the zoo and I need to know if tigers are legal in captivity, what kind, and how many there are I have heard there where over 1'000 in captivity and I think it was the Bengal tiger and I know it was in Texas, but, I 'm not positive so if you know it would be great to get an answer. Thank you

1. Keep your dog hydrated. Make sure your dog has access to water. If you're on the move, carry a portable bowl and bottle of water.

2. Different dogs have different needs. Darker coats absorb more heat than lighter coats, and overweight dogs dehydrate faster. Keep this in mind when taking your pack on a walk.

3. Never leave your dog in a parked car. A car retains heat, even in the shade. Add an overexcited dog to the equation, and dehydration can result. On long trips, keep the AC on or roll down the window, and make sure water is available.

4. Be innovative. A wet towel, a water spritzer, a kiddie pool, a fan in front of a pan of ice: these are all great ways to help keep your dog cool.

5. Dogs cool from the bottom up. Lay a wet towel under your dog instead of on top of her coat. Don't forget your dog's paws and stomach when spraying water.

6. Be vigilant! Watch for signs of dehydration. These include excessive drooling, lethargy, bloodshot eyes, and loss of skin.

The dogs in question are two, one is a mini poodle 5lbs about 9 years old and the othet one is a Chinese Crested 10.bs. The reason my husband says he od'd on animals is because I ran an animal rescue for years, mostly litters of orphaned puppies and kittens, we had a lot of animals in our home, botle feeding and getting up in the middle of the night. Some got sick (Parvo) so, my husband and I attended to the sick puppies as well. We recently separated and one condition on us trying to work things out was NO MORE rescue. I agreed, and found homes for my 7 cats and one large dog (very painful) so, now I only have my two little dogs, but he doesn't want to see their food, if they get near him he gets upset, and he wants them out of our room. I love animals and this is very hard because I would like things to work out with my husband.

I have a 4 mnth old black lab pup who needs lots of walks to help expend her boundless energy..

She does fine when we walk by dogs on leashes, sometimes they sniff and play a little but she doesn't have any aggression or problems at all. She is still a puppy even though she's 25lbs already...

Sometimes a loose dog will run up to us, it's fine now that she's a pup but when she's an adult, excited-energy lab jumping up to a rushing barking German Shep or Chow, that could cause problems!

What are you supposed to do when loose dogs run up to you walking your dog on a leash? So far I just stay relaxed and keep walking straight ahead but what if a dog comes all the way up to us and a fight starts?

Just trying to get educated before something like this happens. And yes she's in puppy kindergarten for socialization and yes we'll get her spayed. ;)

Any tips? thanks~

I am cycling a marine tank with live rock and a damsel. I've had a green algae bloom, and since then my damsel will not eat the flake food. Will he be ok? Should I try a different type of food?

This is my third one tonight. Today I went to different pet store, twice!! This store cared for and loved the rats. Any way, I slowly put my hand in with the rats and two of them (one full grown tan and white, one black and white, not as old) and they sat up on thier hind legs and smelled all the way up to the top of were my arm came into the cage. I know that these are good signs of handling and personality, but they would put there mouths around me. Kind of like a bite. They would start to bite down and i would flinch away, and they would flinch, but i would stick my hand in again, and they would do it again! Is that okay in finding a good rat, and will a rat stop that once I take it home?

My fish include:

7 danios (mix of zebra and leopard long fin)
7 balloon mollies
5 gold pristella tetra
4 swordtails (2 red and 2 pineapple)
6 panda corycats
3 border loaches
2 bosemani rainbows
1 cremecicle molly

None of the fish will really grow that large though, I think the largest are the rainbow fish, which will grow to about 5".

It seems that the fish do have a lot of swimming space since it is a long tank, it is moderately planted with river pebbles and slates on the bottom, and I do keep up with water maintenance. I have a eheim 2128 canister filter. I just wanted opinions from others because I am fairly new with keeping fish. Any advice is great! Thank you!

I have 3 Jordan's Catfish, 2 Tiger Barbs (I think I might have to remove one as it keeps terrorizing the other fish), and 2 Weather Loachs in a 10 gallon tank which has been set up for 7 days. How soon can I add my Betta fish to the tank (it's in a 1 gallon)?

I have a very stable tank and have had it for about 1.5 years. It is 65 gallons with a mixed population of semi-aggressive fish. He was very social and responded well to me especially, actually didn't do well with others. He seemed to prefer dried kril shrimp broken into smaller pieces. For the most part, he was hand fed or he swam up a short tube to eat or the other fish would bully him or take the food and he would not even try to get his share. I have had him since Christmas. He seemed fine on Saturday, I woke up Sunday morning to find him dead. No obvious wounds or signs of impending death. He was adorable, would come to the aquarium front when he heard my voice or saw me walk by, fins flipping like helicopter blades, fanning his litte tail fin to its widest, and puffing ever so slightly to show me he was happy I was there. I miss him very much. As a fairly new aquarium owner I just want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. Water checked out perfect. Any idea?

my question is will a aqua tech 10 gallon hang on back filter work
will it be able to handle the load of 1 betta and 2-3 danios and 2 ghost shrimp
or should i get a 10 gallon whiser internal filter

also i wanted to know if zabra danios will eat trpical fish flakes or betta pellets and do they need a heater

and i wanted to know what is better HOB filters or internal, quieter, easyer to maintain, better for fish, cost

if you have other sugestions on filters please give them
