I have 3 Jordan's Catfish, 2 Tiger Barbs (I think I might have to remove one as it keeps terrorizing the other fish), and 2 Weather Loachs in a 10 gallon tank which has been set up for 7 days. How soon can I add my Betta fish to the tank (it's in a 1 gallon)?

I'm working on getting either a 100 gal or 120 gal tank. I'm trying to find out the Regulations for the barracks.

I've been checking the ammonia level every other day and it has been in the safezone.

I think you need to be looking at getting a larger tank (and a second one as well!). The Jordan's catfish are what's also known as Colombian shark catfish - these get over a foot long and they require brackish water as juveniles, saltwater as adults. They'll eventually eat your betta, and any other fish they can fit in their mouths.

The weather (dojo) loaches will also outgrow your 10 gallon tank - these will get about 10" long.

The tiger barbs are being tiger barbs - these are aggressive fish, and they should be kept in a larger school (6+) so their aggression remains mostly within their group - if too few are present they'll harrass the other fish in the tank and nip their fins - not a good mix with your betta!

Adding 7 fish to a new 10 gallon tank is only asking for ammonia poisoning for those fish in it - you don't have adequate bacteria in there to convert the ammonia they produce (which is toxic to them) into less toxic compounds. Please read the info in these links: http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/disease/p/ammoniapoison.htm , http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm

For now, it would be better to keep the betta where he is, return most of the others and/or seriously rethink the other fish you have and the size/number of tanks needed.
